Ugh. I was really looking forward to the radar cruise control.... Maybe it's just not compatible with the suspension or intended use I don't know. But having driven some Subarus with it, I really enjoyed it for traffic.

The new all alloy diesel would be similar weight to the former 2.5 petrol engine

So yes roughly 100 kg lighter and all of that weight
off front wheels, a big improvement in handling. Last edited by jpd80; 21-07-2018 at 11:16 AM. |

The pre-aluminium body Raptors had a deliberate weak point in the chassis behind the cab that would break when the truck was jumped over significantly large mounds like the youtube. Customers were grizzling that their trucks should be able to do that... |

I'm still not convinced that's correct. 1743 is longer even than a RAP box outside length.

Too all you diesel hippies, if you read my posts I have stated that I HOPE that ford do a turbo petrol ranger/raptor. I never said they will. I said that it would be easy as that combination is coming in the US version. A lot easier than doing a one off for example. I HOPE they do a petrol turbo.
Years ago when ford dropped the V8 from the falcon range I hoped and hoped and hoped they would bring back a V8. Every body said they would not. They did so I bought one. Then when everybody was buying LS1 commodores and turbo falcons I hoped and hoped and hoped that ford would make a lot more powerful V8 falcon. They did and put a supercharger on it. So I bought one. Now all I want is a ranger/raptor with a powerful turbo petrol engine. I will hope that ford will answer my dreams again. Don’t knock me down for that. You may be right and it may never happen. All I can say is I hope your wrong. |

I'll keep posting small raptor tidbits for the interested (and uninterested) as I find them.
All in thai. I don't speak thai. But still a neat watch New video about the tailgate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2GiuoZFIb4s and a walkaround in a dealership: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yc-Ne-tYUnk |

Is it just me or does ford leather always seem kind of cheap when compared to VW/BMW/any European car brands

Yeah I do agree that they need to serve more of a utilitarian purpose. Still Ford does need to up its game and there is always room to grow.
As for looking at these Thai videos 2 things stand out to me: 1) Thai models seem to exclude heated seats. 2) Thai models also don't have tow receiver, and seem to only have tow hooks. I've added screenshots to show. I really really hope that the Australian version comes with a receiver and the delete is only Thai specific. dream poems |

Geezuz the guards are pumped out. I took this off a video Sphinx put up. What a weapon. Hopefully this will be the start of an off-road war between the brands. Irrespective of thoughts on the motor, no one has come to the table with anything like this in Oz’s history. The platform built around 33’s is just eye watering.
I like the diesel and would always buy the diesel for my purpose but hopefully for the petrol heads FORD will come to the party. If they don’t I think others will come to the party but only with the motor - the platform won’t be anywhere near as good as FORDS. Even the current talk and concepts from the competition only run 31” tyres - absolute joke. Will be great to see em off road. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
