And from what I've read, the xr6t is much faster on the street; which coincidentally is where this fella is boasting about.

Buy a NA XR6 and bolt your own supercharger then. Actually, for a good sleeper, buy a BAII XT and bolt one on....

Do the BAII XTs come as a wagon?

That would be a even bigger sleeper.Throw a baby seat in the back and the pram and stuff behind the seat and have a baby on board sticker lol that would be a real good sleeper.

The S/C V6 was actually more powerful than they actually printed on paper.
They kept the figures to a conservative level so it won't effect the sales of the V8's.
The XU6 was rated at 180kw but it was more close to 190ish kw.

True in a way although stick a different pully on the s/c and a free flowing zorst system can easily liven up the 3800 s/c I know my edited V8 Calais was flogged by a mates V6 supercharged Calais.

I dont doubt that as the pully would up the boost and the exhaust would allow it to make best use of it. This is, of course, the path down a modified route. In which case give the Falcon a similar exhaust and a more aggressive cam to match the pully change and you will probably find similar results.

Yeah the s/c whine does make a nice finishing touch to it.
I think also that the Falcon was available in manual form as well and I have driven a few EF-EL's standard 6's and XR6's in manual form and they perform extreamly well. Ford has a great recipe now with the XR6T and FPV Phoon. Its easily the one of the best engines Australia has put out on the market for cost wise and great potential. And we are a lucky country to have hi performance cars at a good price and we enjoy them highly.

It think we are the only country in the world with affordable "performance 6's" (XR and SV). BMW and Merc have them but they are not in the same DNA of the XR6's and SV6's. To actually have full sized 6's now that can match and, in the 6T's case, beat a lot of V8's not that old is a hell of a great place to be as a consumer.

Don't forget that BMW and merc require you to mortgage your house just to test drive one, as they are so expensive when compared to the fords and holdens. I have read in the New York Times an article on how Australian cars are the bomb and are much more inspirational than american cars. They also talk about our extraordinary thirst for power, like the boss 290 compared to the mustang's 230kw or some similar number. Love it.

Yes but doesnt the "Less powerful Falcons" have more torque?

I'm not sure if this is the case with the Falcons that matched the S/C 6 Commodores but usually the Falcon always seems to take it in the torque department and we all know that torque is what wins races.

Probably in stock form, but I daresay stick a SC V6 vs XR6T and the SC would have the jump and the run for quite a bit

Dont think so. There seems to be a misconception that the supercharger is "instant" power and the turbo is laggy till high revs. This is simply not the case. The truth is it is far easier (in I6/V6 form) to make a turbo run from full boost lower in the revs then it is a S/C. One of the turbo's main benifits over a S/C is it is far more flexable in its "tuning".

True, mention the word turbo and some people think lag - how exactly can a large 4L six be laggy off boost? It's still got enough capacity to get by, not that the XR6T gets off boost much anyway in auto form.

Off the top of my head XR6T does low 6's 0-100, the old ecotec S/C did low-mid 7's to 100 stock. In other words it would be pretty even between an XT and S/C V6 to 100 :

I have seen a supercharged Monaro V6 on a dyno, it had edit, under drives,exhaust and filter, after much playing the best Hallam Performance could get out of it was 170rwkw, an XR6T has 180rwkw standard, but with similar mods it's around 100rwkw more, no comparison IMO, i tried to steer my mother in law into a XR6t when she was looking at the Monaro sc6, i couldn't get her to change to Ford, but at least i got her into an LS1 instead of the 6, the look on the dealers face was priceless when after he bragged about the sc6 i asked why the standard BA barra has more power... :
