Yes they probably do, they also had press release stating release in 2016. It's 2015 now so dam hard to supply if they havn't been released.

Maybe I should go to an Apple Store and ask for an iPhone 10 then get the ***** and bag them out because they are not in stock.

My order and deposit taken.
Upon delivery if I am not satisfied, the deposit is returned.
Dealer has stated that they are honouring this, due to their being no demonstrator's yet available.

Awesome win / win situation.
I am on the list.

You have to be happy with that, just on most of the reviews it looks like there wont to too much to dislike about the pony car, good luck mate.

Thanks.
More than happy with the proposal, I believe that most dealers are offering this.

The more I read about the car, the lack of options, the removal of some of the "iconic" bits and pieces, and faults.... the closer I get to the word refund....
Currently in my mind I have the R, the E and 3/4 of the F

As far as I know the official release date has always been November 2015.

There has been some uncertainty over delivery dates for those who have ordered but over on Mustang6g Forums there are some Aussies who are being advised of their VIN's and when their car is going to be built.

I ordered early March and I'm scheduled for a February 2016 delivery.

It's been an up and down ride as we know certain US features won't be on our cars and we still don't know the final specs but I'm sure as soon as we see our cars in the dealer showrooms all this will be forgotten!

As the AUD continues to slide against the USD with some suggesting .50's is a possibility, is it fair to expect the price of the Mustang will increase in Australia?

If this is the case it may play into the hands of those who have placed deposits early.

I fully expect Ford accounted for exchange volatility, however if the dollar nearly halves in value since the decision to bring this car to Aus it could present a challenge.

Ford Australia is aware the customers lining up for a new release Mustang are so motivated to buy they’ll look the other way.

Ford like many companies also know Aussies don’t complain and removing a few items here and there improves the profit margin.

When sales dive they’ll add some of the deleted items to the car to give it a fresh marketing appeal.

It’s a well-worn sales and marketing strategy.

Whether Aussies are happy to be treated this way is yet to be seen.

The Euros do the opposite with the models sold here and fill them full of options then jack the price up to skin you.

That makes sense. As annoying as it would be for otherwise prospective customers. And I agree with you about the Euros. Take Mercedes-Benz for example, they won't even sell the C63 other than the 'S' model. It's pretty much all or othing.

So besides blind spot assist....which I would suspect would be an issue with cost of the mirrors. The other stuff would have its reasons.

I thought people would be more peeved at the drop in power of the V8.

People seem to be making a song and dance about the omission of bonnet vents, red tail lights and the LED signature lights in the headlight clusters. Oh and how could I forget the bigger mirrors.

Yes, it sucks that that our cars are aesthetically slightly different to the US models, but in reality it is what it is - we aren't the only ones in this boat, all of the European and other export markets are the same. Realistically what we do get is a very well optioned vehicle - especially for the price. The reason for these changes is most probably to have a uniform specification for export markets to keep costs down as well as conforming to the requirements of all overseas markets, because there's no way we'd be seeing GTs starting at 55k if they made a model for each different country.

On the mirror note - I for one am glad mine will have the bigger mirrors because the mirrors on the US show car were so small you couldn't see anything out of them which would be a complete pain for daily driving.

I can't wait till the end of the year when my GT arrives, because I know all of the 'gripes' will disappear the first time I get behind the wheel.

Well for starters wouldn’t it be cheaper if all the cars worldwide had the same bonnet with no vents and not two variations.

In fact outside of local design rules wouldn’t it be cheaper to manufacturer if the whole car was identical worldwide.

I’m sure if enough potential buyers started voicing their desire for vents, someone somewhere would start to listen.

And yes some of the changes are minor and not a deal breaker but in the scheme of things some of those little things also make the car look a little bit better.

As I said, Aussies just accept and if a company can delete a few things to increase the profit margin then the company will.

A representative from Ford in the US confirmed on another forum that our Mustangs are 100% identical to the European cars, albeit in RHD and without the option of their 'custom pack' - so that's what you can base expectations off.

It would be a bucket load cheaper to sell it here as a LHD vehicle as well. But they can't do that.

Other manufacturers produce cars in right and left hand drive to access as many different markets as possible and keep the cosmetics the same to reduce unnecessary costs.

I really don’t care what Ford’s reasoning is behind the differences in the US spec vehicle and the Aussie/European spec, what I will always find offensive is that the local variant is a lesser package.

Admittedly only minor differences but a cost saver all the same.

And I do believe the bonnet on the US spec cars looks far better than what is reported to be on the Aussie version but that's just my taste.

Still if everyone else is happy to be second best then good for them as I’m happy to sit by myself and believe if I pay a good price for a product, I deserve to get what is available to other consumers.

This was posted on another forum - a response from the CEO of Ford UK in relation to queries about the daytime running lights and bonnet vents.

Quote:
The process of bringing Mustang to the UK has indeed required a number of modifications to achieve full homologation.

Due to pedestrian protection regulations, the hood vents (or bonnet scoops) and the tower strut brace are not fitted to European vehicles. For the same pedestrian protection purposes, Mustangs are fitted with an active deployable bonnet which uses sensors in the front bumper to identify any frontal impact with a pedestrian. The bonnet hinges have pyrotechnic charges which pop up the rear of the bonnet by approximately 10cm, increasing the space between the bonnet and the engine block.

European regulations regarding DTRLs (daytime running lights) also require that the lights are visible from a specific side angle to help with visibility at intersections. The position of the US-spec lights, deeply recessed from the front grille do not make them visible from the required side angle. For this reason, the European Mustangs all come with DTRLs in the front fog lamps instead. And as the European homologation restricts the DTRL to one light source per side, the tri-bar lights in the headlamps are disabled for Europe.
