To the OP, don't worry about some of the folk on here mate, you are happy and that's the thing that counts.
Thats very presumptious of you. The poster above me was happy to belittle me in his comment about buying a brown 4 cylinder falcon. (Personal attack!).

Simply highlighting the fact back at that poster, that i have made two other choices. I Have not made any references to the OP, or the value of the vehicles.

Have you read this thread in full? - show me where i have personally attacked anyone, including the OP for his decision. I simply stated a fact of my findings regarding prices in the last few months.

I offered my option on a PUBLIC forum and its turned into a personal slanging match towards my choices. You are free to make comments, likewise i am free to reply.

I'm sure OP is happy with his choice, he should be, but maybe the next person who reads this and is looking for a used car can be armed with the knowledge of what OTHER people have also paid and base their purchasing decision on that!.

I picked up mine with under 100,000km back in March for 10k. Has the prestige sound with colour screen like the G6.

It is an ecoboost. Bought privately, talked him down from $14500. Others at action with similar km go for 14k approx.

I replaced the wheels and tail lights with a set I got from ebay...

Not if you are a retard about it

This is an open public forum, if someone posts on here, then expect to get a response that some may or may not like.

We don't like yours so please go away

I'm not and have not taken any personal shots at the OP or his selection of vehicle. (unlike some comments about my choice of ecoboost)

Yes you did

Just commenting on my findings regarding price since spending the last 6 months trawling pickles for my own daily driver.

Then make your OWN thread

I'm being realistic and factual, not insulting or vindictive which seem the be the standard response on here when someone comments against the norm.

Are you NORM ?

Well done OP, you got a red hot deal, can't be beat, have a pat on the back. Is that what you all prefer to hear? Seems like it.

Hi NORM yes he did get a red hot deal

I've been around here long enough to see it all. I commented on the price the OP got, nothing else. Some of you don't like it, well everyone is entitled to voice their opinion.

Indeed , how many bannings now ?

If anyone is afraid of getting "Rain on their parade", then may be don't post online.
Solid advice indeed...

All good fellas. I'm enjoying the car. Bluetooth/Spotify steaming is great. I'm used to it on my wife's Territory titanium. This is only monochrome screen though, But still does the job!
Very handy that the gas primes when the door is opened. It's almost instant start.

I am tempting to do the transmission service on the 6HP26. Got to find the link on here again. It's a pig to find on my phone for some reason.

The taxi mechanic told me not to service it, if it's not leaking/problematic.

Want to try without a flush.
She didn't need anything other than a window for rwc. Council looked after it which was good! Bearings/ Bushes were changed and in perfect condition

If you want a colour screen, i've seen them are on Ebay for under $1000. Just need to get it activated.

Not sure, but people have said its an easy change over.

Waiting for the day when someone works out how to flash tune or turbocharge these EcoLPI weapons. Rumour was in development, power was reaching 240kw, but Ford didn't want to fit an xr6t driveline to a budget car and detuned it about 200kw instead.

Crazy money. I'd say the dual climate wouldn't work. Pretty much like how a dual climate Icc with premium sound won't work on a ba-bf in a single Icc. They still fetch a lot of money, especially the piano black ones. 😥

There are single zone ones available. G6 Isn't dual zone. Neither is mine.

Check out eBay item 221593940820

$849 Will fit straight in. Just need ford to activate it.

Hell of a hobby you got there, trawling pickles.

I'm sure falconaussiebf would have rather over paid by a massive $500 than spent 6 months of trawling and tyre kickin'

Was in no rush, and waited for the right car at the right price to come along.

Believe it or not, i enjoy the search. New or used.

Looking up pickles online takes 5 minutes a day. No tyre kicking needed until i found the one i wanted.

I've bought a lot of cars in the last 20 years (23 in total), some i won on, some i lost (big time). One thing for sure, in my case, the more time i put into it, the better the outcome was.

so yeah.......you could say that buying cars, getting bored, then selling them is one of my hobbies!

Yep, I've seen pics of auction cars as well, in reality they don't always marry up to the car you see in person. Nice pick up to the OP.
Like many here on this forum we have often been told there are cheaper cars out there. P155es me off too. Especially when said cars are on the other side of the country. Apples with apples please.

Gave her a full service today.
HPR 5 penrite oil, filter,
Genuine plugs, genuine coils, o2 sensor and air filter. Meaning to do the coolant flush and thermostat but was cut for time. Looking to have a mechanic friend do the 6hp26 auto. I've got the filter and oil.

Two month update, She is running good. Loves the HPR5 full synthetic.
Drinks a little more gas than I expected, but because of the extra power I'm booting it a lot more.... Plus playing with perf mode on the transmission seems to rev it more, no complaints!! Loving it

Yeah it does. I've been meaning to do it for a few weeks now. Keep forgetting and noticing when I fill up my wiper fluid. On a side note, I used cooled down boiled water for the radiator flush/fill as I had no lift to shops for distilled water! I'm a shocker.

Not rumour, fact, during development they where very close to turbo power output,so as not to encroach on Turbo sales they "detuned" them.(have this in an article some where, with all my other Ford stuff/articles.) They put out around 210kw Cheers

Congrats on the buy. I love my EcoLPi as well. Great car and so cheap to run (especially when towing!) I loved my EcoBoost as well, but it just couldn't tow. Not sure if you have already checked, but there was a recall around that time that you might want to confirm has been done to you car.

Why would you boil water though? Boiling it does nothing... The goal is to remove the salts from the water...

If you have a frosting freezer (old school I know), but in the 80's we'd thaw out the frost formed in the freezer and use that as its salts free (not really distillation but a similar result)

Sold the car this week with 230,000km for $9k with RWC.
So I did around 22,000km and lost a grand total of approx $950. Factoring it I supplied the RWC which cost me $140 and need 1 ball joint for $125.
