Really not into the shape of the new 3 series sedan. The coupes on the other hand look awesome. Seen plenty of near new 335i's at the auctions for under 100k too due to GFC.
I drove the coupe today in the 325 as thats all they had (no 325 sedans) and I didnt like the long doors / the way you get in / out of it.. Plus the way the seatbelt is chucked at you is sorta delayed.. Overall didnt like it..

Still not 100% sure if its worthwhile even upgrading, its hard to replace her as "new" calais that does everything this car does only twice as fast.. Its got a us a bit up in the sky...

Yeh but didnt drive it.. THe figures on it are impressive but once you kit it up its gonna be over 100 kay, plus i have been told Diesel isnt very user friendly at the pump smell wise haha. e.g. shes not fueling a diesel equiped car..

If you werent buying the car for specific purpose, in her case im not sure what that is, the Holden / Ford team still smash these cars on user friendliness / ergonomics.

I cannot believe for luxury cars how dated the dashboards are in them with climate control buttons, cruise control stalks etc, as far as user friendlieness goes the Germans could have a few lessons on how to place buttons / make a dash easy to use, as far as im concerned those cars are appauling compared to my FG / our VE on a lessor note.

Holy ***!
We are really getting ripped off here. I just read the road test in Motor Trend this afternoon and its being released Stateside this month at under USD$90,000. Seeing as how the exchange rate is just over 90 cents to the USD ... go figure.

Lexus GS300 is too big.. Its like driving an S class mercedes! lol.

Plus theres that dreadful resale that seem to smash Lexus products....

I guess what im saying is ive pretty much made the decision if she believes she needs a euro car its gonna be the BMW 323i, M pac, 18 inch wheels, vision pack (xexons, satnav etc), front park assist.. For the money they are talking and what im getting it seems like im getting a good deal, although they havent commited to a trade in on the Calais yet, funny that!

G6ET would be my choice!! oh i wish!

Well a C63 AMG is $160 here on the road roughly...

A E500 is about $190 with options.. but then again the Mercedes guy wasnt that helpful, so he coulda been sprouting , i think i started off on the wrong foot by rocking up there in my FG XR6 ute.. if i was driving a 2006 ish C class or something they probably would have been more helpful!

The thread title is "What Luxury Sedan to get??" not "What Luxury Yacht to get??"

That a mighty fine list there, lets see how the G6ET stacks up to the euros in the eyes of a non-enthusiast.

I'm neither, but loving mine.

Recently found out if you wanted one, you would need more than just another 60k to purchase, insurance on mine of just under $5k per year.

To me, a 300C is like taking a low price hooker home to meet mum and dad
but as Mr Brooksy said, beauty is in the eye of the beholder

Looks like it will be the G6ET they both loved the G6ET over the 323i BMW.. Thought it was a puss bucket with no comfort, power and too many dumb gadgets..

Waiting for the C300 to turn up!
