[QUOTE=csv8]
A source close to Ms Bingle, who declined to be named, said she was "shocked" and "frightened" over the incident.

"She can't believe it - she's really upset," the source said. "Michael is not here and she's quite frightened."

/QUOTE]

What is there to be frightened about, It was the car that was stolen, Fairly sure they just wanted the car and not the air head who owns it!!

If it was my car i would be “Angry and *i^$ed off”

Default Spotto a stolen Aston Martin

Driving up the F3 northbound at Mt White at 1.30am this morning I saw the Aston Martin also heading north, didn't realise until reading the telegraph newspaper with a picture with the unusual number plates & distinctive looking car, I followed it for about 20 mins.
The car was found today anyway!

A THIRD set of keys to Lara Bingle's $250,000 Aston Martin were stolen from fiance Michael Clarke's Range Rover, the couple claimed yesterday.

Bingle was trying to answer questions surrounding the mysterious theft of her 2008-model Vantage just hours after it was found parked in a neighbouring suburb.

On Thursday the carmaker declared no Aston Martin had ever been stolen without the key.

"Last night [Thursday] Michael realised he had left a spare set of Aston Martin keys in the glove box of his Range Rover," Bingle said yesterday.

"The Range Rover was broken into, so we believe [thieves] have taken the keys and stolen the Aston Martin."

While at the Icebergs New Year's Day party in Bondi with Clarke, the 22-year-old remained cagey about how the coupe had vanished and refused to reveal if she planned to keep the supercar.

"We're not sure what we'll do - let's get it back first," she said.

Before heading to Icebergs the couple spoke with police after the car was found abandoned in a cul-de-sac at a South Coogee housing estate late on New Year's Eve.

While the Aston Martin usually turns heads, it was barely noticed by residents of Iluka Place who said it was locked up, parked perfectly and had hardly a scratch.

Police yesterday confirmed that the fraud squad would investigate the theft.

So, not only are the rich, they’re stupid as well. Not so for claiming that they left a spare set of keys for the Aston in the glove box of another car, but for expecting people to believe it. Just goes to show that money can’t buy intelligence.

Still doesn’t explain how the car vanished without anything appearing on the CCTV in the car park? Looks like my crystal ball prediction was right.

I don’t know why the fraud squad are investigating it for, they should be giving Scully and Moulder a call for this unexplained phenomenon.

1. Sounds dodgy;
2. Sounds so dodgy that the Fraud Squad are taking a look;
3. Things need to be serious for the fraud squad to get involved - they don't rock up to just any party;
4. She's hot as hell and loaded - I wonder if she wants to look after my GT until the Aston comes home?
5. Where are the pics?

Clarke just remembers that his Range Rover was broken into and that there was a spare set of keys for the Aston in the glove box, hmmmmm.

Was the break-in and theft of the keys reported to the police or the insurer?

Was there any damage to the range rover when the ‘break in’ occurred?

Was the damage to the Range Rover repaired under insurance or did Clarky just go down to the local wreckers and pick a few parts off another car?

This is hilarious. I love it when stupid people dig themselves into a hole.

Just another thing. They say that there was a third set of keys for the car which were stolen… well, Mr Clarke. This is where money can’t buy brains.

The ECU on an Aston once downloaded will tell if there was a third set of keys and it will also be able to tell which key stated the car. I bet you didn’t realise that, did you? Mr Clarke.

I'm no Nicholas Cage but if I stole a car and chose to "dump" it, not sure I would park it perfectly in Coogee without a scratch and have the common decency to lock it up for the owners. Will be interesting to here the full story.

In the initial media reports it was stated that other cars in the carpark had either suffered damage or been broken in to, they could've got the keys that way. Still sounds a bit suss.

Incidentally Flappist this looks like the "small" 4.3 litre V8, the recent update is the "big" 4.7 litre. The 6.0 Litre V12 is a recent limited edition model. I don't know if any of them are out in the country yet.

it was many years ago now, but a high profile (leading championship) phase 3 race car was stolen in adelaide and was found with minor damage and an apology note from the thief
it may have been a spur of the moment theft. how many people that were low enough to break into cars in the first place would be able to resist taking that car out for a ride, if they stumbled across the keys

I'll keep it simple...I have not a second for Lara Bingle or Michael Clarke (which may make me a hyprocrite here), but all I can say is, 'what a terrible waste of a beautiful car.'

That is all.

No wait...I really cannot stand Bingle...

Now that is all...

we wont hear the outcome of the investigation . this is as dodgy as they come and plenty of cash will change hands behind the scenes . things like this are actually advertising and marketable as well .
people of this calibre get laughed at not charged . in some instances they dont even pay for thier vehicles , because of thier marketing profile .
my wife used to work in the luxury car industry , and the amount of celebrities given cars that most cantr afford are insane, lots of them come back after 6 months too , written off . the public doesnt hear about it , and the driver celebs dont even get to face the dealer priciple to explian thier stupidity, they send a tow truck , thats it .
it's amazing the differant life people with money live , they have the money to pay , but they get it all for free. :

i don't think most people really care, but the interest is in reading the next post and either agreeing or disagreeing 100%
people are passionate about their opinion, not necessarily the subject their opinion is based on

How many cars have 3 sets of keys? Every new car I have had 2 sets only. Then again I have never had a $250k car.

maybe, just maybe - she has a spare set inside the house and because she is so dumb (she must be, i read it here) and forgets where she lives, michael has a set to help her out when she locks the keys in it or leaves them on the beach or at the a list party etc. etc

it is quite funny really - an aston martin is not suitable on australian roads we are told, well neither is an xr6 turbo or even an xr8. you do not need that power (it is sure nice to have though, just like an aston martin really)

if they are lying about what happened, they are not doing any different to most of the population anyway and if they are not and no charges are laid. it is only because they bought their way out - they cannot win can they

i wish i could be so jealous of everyone like michael and lara - it would make my life so complete

You can get a third or fourth set of keys supplied with a car if you request it, or at any time afterwards. Just need the dealer to program them in. I did it all the time back in the AU and BA days when I worked in Pre-Delivery.
