there are rumours that DJR are going to get ford funding again soon. This could be part of the package some old FEV's to use as ride/promo cars.

Good point!

Slap new bumpers and lights on it, paint it and sticker it up and bam - one promo car that cost DJR and Ford next to nothing!

perhaps the first car has a higher ride height on the rear, could be optical illusion but it appears that way, it has wheels and tyres on the rear, and as that pesky wall is in the way peuty couldn't get a pic of that cars' rear, it looks to have an xr wing on it too not the little lip spoiler - oh wait hmm.. is that it?

I thought I'd throw in the final product as a comparison. To me it has more road presence than the final version. Considering the small cost to implement it on the series II, it must be tempting for Ford to use it.

I agree it's not a classic beauty, but it would really signal the introduction of the Coyote. If Ford want to make a statement, this would be a great way of doing it. Maybe we need a poll?

Also, (while the photo's are a great find) they don't do car justice, think 'Sensation' with 19" Wheels.

Would make sense to use it as a special edition (ala SS/Pontiac G8) edition.

i was thinking more to do with the rear door being shorter. beacause the v8 supercar has a shorter wheelbase than the road going version to match the VE supercar wheelbase, they take some floor out from the rear door/floor area and replace with a smaller length door.

ve was shortened to match ba. then fg had to be shortened to match ve.
correct me if im wrong........

i like the look of the front of the FG XRs we see on the road now, the only thing i think, is that the top radiator intake is too small, it needs to have the opening inline with the bottom of the headlight 'teardrop'

Yeah it wouldn't be bad.

I feel the same about BA vs BF. IMO a BA XR front looks better than a BF XR; the lines just seem to flow better. This FG is the same but the spotties are polarizing.

FPV can get away with that stuff because you almost expect it.

This is the first image I thought of too Nikked.

When I saw this on the cover of Wheels back when we didn't yet know what the FG was going to look like, I thought "please no...."

It's been nearly 2 years and I still think that. The foggy merged up into the top of the bumper is just wrong.

They should have used this bar for the GS to make it a little more different from the XR range, i don't mind it either, current one is nicer but this isn't bad.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but you are correct. They are their 'Dollar cars', ie. cost them a dollar to buy off Ford, to do with what they please.

Here's the F6 -

Excuse the blurry pic, it's not mine

So there you go.

It is very surprising that Mother and other energy drinks don't sponsor any of the major v8 teams, Id like to see a Red Bull Falcon, or a Monster Falcon lol!

How about a V Commodore, because neither of them do what they say on the tin.

Well the Monster Fiesta is definitely a looker, perhaps with their current link to Ford this could be the next step? Definitely a good point though, no energy drink really sponsors a V8 Event or V8 Super Car?
