A little off topic but I think it is legal to enter/exit a driveway over double white/unbroken lines?

I was confused too, there's no slip lane at Brisbane Rd in Mooloolaba.

Well best of luck for your next test Foxtrot, i got my licence from the guys at Maroochy QLD Transport and found them to be pretty good, but ended up doing most of my test around wises and sugar rd.

man these are just like one of lifes ИИИИ times... I failed my first by going over a solid white line. THe ИИИИИ of an instructor changed her mind and told me to go left at the roundabout(after saying go straight). So i check mirrors and crap, and clip a white line when changing lanes. This ИИИИИ then says instant fail.

You shoulda seen how i drove back to the rta. Needless to say, i got my licence the other side of town.

So dont worry mate. Take a deep breath before the next test, go 5ks under the limit, and look left and right six times before moving. Its just the way it is man.

yeh thats common one as well....speeding. there is no deduction for sittin 5 km's under the limit, also when checking over your shoulder for traffic when changin lanes.....make it so obvious that they actually notice not just flick your eyes(u can do that when u have ur p's lol).

good luck next time

i almost failed my test last year, i had an instructors car refining my skills, i wasnt looking enough, well i was he just couldnt see it, and told me to move my head around....

The main problem y i almost failed is im used to driving around slightly bigger cars, like my AU, and my mums EA, the brake peddles on these cars have a lil way to go before they fully grab on... but the lil car i had i think it was a mazda 2 could have been a newish laser had about 2mm before it would fully grab, so i would sorta brake at the last minute to try and give smooth braking rather than jerking the tester all around... the tester said i would have failed, but cause it only counts as 1 thing, apparently i did it a few times, but aint worried cause i can brake properly in my falcon

either way that sucks and i hope u get it next time, having a licenese is handy:P, be prepared to be DD till ya 18 if ur not:P

Similar thing happened to me except it was a round about and the person to the right was just sitting there doing nothing, I just sat there until the instructor told me to go.

I must have gotten lucky when I found my instructor then, I think.

He made a special point of telling me on my first lesson that at any roundabout or give way point that if I'm in the position where I'm supposed to give way to always give way, even if the person on my right sits for half an hour trying to wave me through. The same for pedestrians crossing the road where they have right of way. He said even if I've gotta wait all day before they get sick of trying to wave me through, I've gotta do it.

I thought if they waved you through then you could go, but he told me on my first lesson that that's still failure to give way and therefore a fail on the test.

Tough luck on your test, mate. But it sounds like you should be right for a pass next time. Sometimes you've gotta throw away the ol' "common sense" and just play it by the book. Good luck.

I did a practical license test the otherday, drove like a grandma and apparently aced it my examiner was really nice which was good, what probably helped me was when I have having lessons the instructor took me on the exact route I had on my test.

Apparently you can if you failed the test on road rules.

To the people whinging about being failed on breaking the road rules while following a direction, do you think on the road? Or just blindly drive around with the Melways on your knees thinking she'll be right?

Sure it sucks that you've gotta pay up again, but the fine for getting busted doing it is probably the same, if not more. I bet you won't be doing the same thing in a hurry, which could very well save you from an accident.

[QUOTE=foxtrot]Well im mighty ИИИИed off

Just done my P's test and was on the way back to the registry with a pass. was making a left turn on a "slip lane" near mcdonalds in moloolaba (for locals) and this other car to my right was also turning in.. well he must of saw L plates and freaked out because i was stopping to give way but he just stopped and looked at me.. well i continued through and then

"why didnt you give way in the slip lane at mcdonalds"

me: "uhh because the guy stopped there"

FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL FAIL CRITICAL ERROR DIDNT GIVE WAY OTHERWISE NEAR PERFECT PASS

BULLИИИИ BULLИИИИ BULLИИИИ BULLИИИИ

i failed 2 times . once because the instructor told me to turn left with short notice in a suburban street so i applied the brakes and put blinker on . only to find out i failed for turning left without veering to the left 1st . ( barstard)
2nd time because i was in the left lane with an arrow stating left lane turn left at an approaching roundabout . the instructor told me to follow the road i said the road or the lane i'm in . just keep going he said so i turned left . fail
i was spewing because it was a driving test not an interpretation test. 3rd time i donthe test i drove terrible . fail for sure i thoiught but i passed. i hope the instructors have picked up thier act since then.

I went around the same area as my test but not exact route.. in fact the place i stuffed up was the only turn i hadn't taken in any of my lessons with my instructor.. had he said MAKE SURE YOU GIVE WAY HERE i would of probably sat there and passed

I got failed the first time for my P's for not using the handbrake in a 3 point turn in a manual. Absolute crap!
The woman examiner grabbed for the handbrake and startled me, causing me to stall the car and roll backwards (towards a storm water drain).
