I would rather walk than drive a Holden.
But in saying that the Mustang would be the only Ford I would consider. They can shove the Explorer and whatever FWD piece of rubbish they will use as some sort of Falcon replacement where the sun don't shine. |

Im still a pro american car company person but ill buy Australian until we stop manufacturing RWD vehicles. If i dont upgrade to the last Falcon then ill be going back to the Commodore. Only thing that will temp me is the Mustang or the F series but who knows if they will arrive here with especially with a V8

Ford man. The brand is bigger than the model. I'll continue to buy and support Ford, wherever they happen to be made.

Ford man here. The vehicle that made me so was of all things, the Ford Transit my parents owned when I was a kid, then an XW GTHO owned by a family friend sealed it for life.
Owned many Falcons but have also owned the Euro Capri, LTD's, Mustangs and even a Telstar. I'll keep my FG XR8 indefinitely (probably use it as my coffin ). I'll probably wait to see what Ford offer after 2016 but aiming for a 'Stang again. |

The Falcon has always been my attraction to Ford.
Now that it is gone doesn’t mean I still won’t take an interest in what Ford may offer in the future, particularly if they start to import performance models. So even though Falcon brought me here, Ford is the reason I’ll stay. Now it’s a matter of wait and see how this will play out. . |

Listening to stories about my Dad's XT GT is what made me a car person in the first place. I am well and truly through a Falcon man. The fact it uses a straight six when so many other vehicles and companies converted to a V6 is what also appealed to me. The car was so unique, but wasted on a continually falling standard of intelligence in the Australian population. People that buy Camry's and the like.
I am pro Ford everything... but now I am shaken to my foundations about the brand. Maybe after I get over the Falcon going away I might remain loyal, but for now they are dead to me. Damn this news has just left me shattered.

Falcon all the way! But unfortunately I will not be buying another Ford. If you take the Ford out of the Aussie, you take the Aussie of the Ford.

I'm a Ford fan, Ill support them whatever they do. Ill always have a Falcon in the shed but like now its not a current model.
Years ago I always dreamed for the current model family but right now a dual cab 4x4 ute is the daily driver (Dmax Company Car). My parents are die hard Ford, always been Falcons but at the moment its a Terry and a Focus ST. Times change and what people are after changes.

I love my ute. At the moment I can see nothing to replace them after 2016.

Brand loyal Ford fan. Owned and driven everything from a Prefect, V8 (289) Transit, cortina, Telstar and Falcons and my Mustang.
A sad day for all the workers and their families. Hopefully they will find work elsewhere that will utilise their valuable skills. Ford will likely be importing more of their world platform cars as well as Mustang, Taurus (rebadged as a Falcon?), Fusion etc. not all bad. And for all the gloom merchants don't think that Commodore will be a long term viable option either as it will be gone soon too. Car manufacturing in Aussie will disappear just as it did in NZ over 30 years ago as it just not financially viable. We should see a better range of vehicles at better prices than we have seen before. Last month we bought a brand new 2013 Focus Sport, built in Thailand. Build quality is perfect and the technology is right up there. Great quality and value and it looks good too.

Think of myself as a Falcon man having owned 5, still own 2.
But I departed Falcons years ago as daily drivers, just didn't meet my family needs. |

Buyers want product at a good price for the features.
Simply compare Ford Falcon Vs Ford Mondeo, which both fall into the same price and size segment. Mondeo wins hands down. And for those purists who desire rwd platform.... sorry, but most buyers don't give a hoot about fwd or rwd differences. Even the fitment of Mondeo's Ecoboot 4-cyl has not saved Falcon. When buying my new Mondeo XR5 (manual gearbox pls), I didn't even bother test driving the Falcon XR6, was a test-sit only. Falcon was so far behind for same $$$$. Welcome to the Global Economy And I've driven an XR6 Turbo extensively on long trips. Very quick in a straight line but agricultural (that comment will get people smokin !!). Lacks refinement compared to Euro trash. Unfortunately....that's market forces folks. And for the record I've owned 2 Falcons, 3 Hondas , 1 Subaru Outback, 1 Telstar TX5 Ghia, 3 Capri GTs, Camry (mistake), Laser, and currently drive a Mondeo XR5 Turbo. Plus my 2 classics - Capri GT + Stag. I don't consider myself a Ford man per se, but they do have some nice non-Falcon products currently on offer (compared to other brands). I do consider myself as having an open mind about my car buying options - entice me !!. |

I'm a car person. I like cars that have character and personality, and are great to drive. The Falcon is one of those cars.

I wana echo an earlier comment. The Ranger was engineered and designed here, so that may suit some. I think a Ranger 7-seater is also coming.

I'm a Ford fan, thou mind you it was the falcon that eventually got me there. Sad to see it go but realise it is market forces that lead it there. Ford have plenty of other great line ups. If I am in a good position come 2015/2016 I'll be looking at buying one of the last falcons. Preferably xr6 turbo if it is still available, or the G6ET. Would be my first new car as well. I will be keeping that car and my bf xr8 for some years to come.

I'm not sure i can answer with only two options. If they only have small cars I'm not interested. I am a ford man australian or u.s or uk where ever but I have defiantly grown fond of falcon and all that's related. If they were to start importing large sedans I would be a little more happier. Rear wheel drive would suit me more.
I would be most impressed if ford u.s produced the falcon in its rear wheel configuration. What ever way you look at it, it is a very dark day in ford camp....

I'm a Falcon man. I'll continue to drive Falcon's into the future until its impractical to do so: ie, when they start to get ultra rare and parts hard to get.
My daily will be some forgettable Korean appliance.
