Quick question. Is the sunroof aftermarket. I recall there being an issue installing sunroofs on FGs?

The sunroof was fitted to the car at the local dealers it was bought from by a contract installer that fits them for HSV, FPV etc. The guy is a perfectionist when it comes to fitting them.

We do believe it is a cab
or at least i do
and i see several cabs a day
if it were a joke he wouldn't have gone to the trouble of putting the price stickers on the rear quarterglass

And it would be possible to still make money on the operating costs - A casino taxi licence would be significantly cheaper than a capital city licence - less overheads, more freedom. And if it's an owner driver car and he's able to write it off all as a business expenditure - and accept a bit of a personal cost for a bit of enjoyment - then good on him, it's an awesome thing to do.

There has been a few opinions voiced on this forum about whether this is a Taxi or not, you can take it from me the mechanic for casino cabs and the person responsible for bolting together all the modifications to this car that it is in fact a NSW registered taxi. It has it's 6 monthly ATIS inspections and complies to all current NSW taxi industry requirements. That said I would like to take a few people that helped make this project come together and their support. Simon and the crew from NIZPRO Turbocharing, Matt Mason from Lismore Diffs and Chris Romano from Bob Romano Performance. If you want to have a look at one of the dyno runs go to this You Tube address http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1fVjjONYYo

Just tell the disbelievers that they can come to Casino and hire it. If they can then prove it's not legit you'll refund their expenses !

I think they call it put up or shutup

You would lose money being a cab drive running a turbo on petrol.
I bet this car does not do 100,000km per year
when driving normaly a turbo gives better consumption only when you give it a boot full does it drink fuel. he should consider injected gas a good injected system actually goes better than petrol and if it's a liquid injection system you get a cold fuel that will help the turbo as well

Running a taxi on petrol is only really suitable if you're doing the job as a hobby.

This guy has income from other sources (ie owning multiple taxis), so this car is a bit of fun. Not particularly profitable, but a heap of fun. But he doesn't need income from this car because there's plenty of money coming from the rest of the business.

There's a guy in Perth running an FG G6E Turbo on petrol.

Very cool, shame on the warriors...

There is indeed an G6ET in Perth (south of river) with 160,000km on it (used as taxi from new) and owner can't fault the car.
