If it was sold at a farm clearing public auction
Highly doubtfull it would have been stolen
It would have a clear title as mentioned previous
Usually there are time limits for removal of purchases
Im sure they are not 9 years

If it was on the farm when bought and been sitting there 9 years
The previous owner is never comin back
Mentioned previous

Storage places charge anywhere from $5 to $15 a day storage
Times than by 365 , then by 9
Thats a lot more than what its current value is of say $5K

I bought some chevy utes from a similar auction 5 years ago, seemed good at the time but frieght was around $700 each,(bought 4)
So the cost far out wieghed the purchase
So they stayed there,im not chasin em up
There would be costs involved and frieght would be more

Ad in the local paper, see what happens
Could also charge the cars value for storage

seen an add in the local paper this week from a mechanical workshop doing this exact thing. It said the business owners name give notice to sell such n such vehicle if not claimed within 14 days from memory. Best advice, cover your *** and see a solicitor just in case.

do the ad in the paper thing, and do a stolen-car check (whatever they call that these days).
It can't hurt. Even if the farms previous owner knew nothing of it, something in it's past may come back to bite.
As highly unlikely as it seems, it can happen. When I took my coupe through for an ID check 3yrs or so ago, the number on the block I bought off a mate came back as stolen.
Turned out to be from a fairlane that was stolen in NSW (i'm in SA) 25yrs earlier. Had somehow managed to stay on record for that long. After 5 weeks of my coupe sitting in the impound yard the NSW police told SAPOL to give my car back as no-one will ever come forward for it.

That was 5 weeks of stress that i didn't need. I'd hate for anyone else to unnecessarily have to go through that.
