A little bit of kudos to ACA (as much as I hate the show) they have helped him plug his book and was a good story.
That book i will be buying thats for sure.

Just buy the book, I’ll be buying one.

While I have the utmost respect for Dick and what he’s achieved, there are many who have found themselves in dire situations who don’t have the access to the media to tell their story or the resources to write a book that people will actually buy.

I know plenty of people who have been ripped off badly / made poor business decisions (myself included) and not a lot of people outside of the own family could GAF.

If you really want to help, just buy the book, shirts or what ever he’s selling. I can’t see the need to just donate money.

Flame away.

We should all be so greatful to Dicky, he was the among the sole shining light when Ford were giving nothing to racing. He gave us someone to cheer for. My earliest motorsport memories were of DJ winning Bathurst in the Sierra. Bloody legend.

$100 to become an official Teammate on his website. That would be the most straight forward way for us to help. But I am in if people have the time to orgnaise a fundraiser directly.

I was out at DJR yesterday, I have the Book, I'm a team member & Dicks done me a couple of favours over the years; given freely of his time, never asked for anything from me.
Great bloke, I'll tell you he has never forgotten what Aussies did for him years ago & has been giving back in spades ever since.

We can all do a little bit, buy a shirt or hat from his website and make the book a number a 1 seller..
How good would it be if Ford stepped in and gave them a cash boost, no has been more loyal to the Ford product than Dick and a feel good story would be some positive news for the Ford brand in Australia.

Went to the DJR open day and was more than happy to spend some cash.

Very keen if we can arrange a charity run or swap meet. Was great to see Dick out amongst the crowd, signing autographs, shaking hands, taking pics and just having a general chat. A real credit to him considering his face was on the front page of the Sunday Mail.

True hero and a legend in this ol fellas books. true aussie underdog that just keeps fighting.

with that in mind, most I read are a bit hard on his business ethics. one thing to remember, hes a race car driver, not an accountant , university business degree. hes an aussie battler doing the best to live his dream and support his family. :-)

Gardner's spending some of it on his sons now, sold his business here, and based in Europe starting his boys out in road racing.

But also please show some respect to those who do have respect for him. There are alot on here who have followed and enjoyed his input into motorsport and especially the Ford brand.

Not everyone has to like him but just show a bit of compassion towards those that do?

I admire his resilience , he has hung in there where others folded , he gave us hope when FORD Aust didn't , but there comes a time when the Mustang just isn't fast enough and he must be retired .Its sad but perhaps it's time .

Ford give cars to lots of people for lots of reasons, this would be classed as an 'ex-Ford Exec' car

I used to have one when I worked for a former employer, it got changed over by Ford every 6 months or 15,000k's, the former CEO of Winton had one, there are heaps of them out there

The people who ****-bag Dick for having the car should research the facts, in fact ring the dealer and ask who the first owner was as listed in the hand-book, my money says is says FoMoCo
