All you need to do is a set of injectors or a DPF and you'll have bloody underwear.

Probably not a concern for a new car where it's under warranty and you change em out every X years but if you're holding onto it modern diesel is a bit too fragile for us 'value for spondoolies' crew

I've got a leaky injector in my Focus which causes a rough start, I'm not spending $4400+ GST for a set of injectors.
And where does that leave someone who has the occasional need to tow 2t but cant afford or justify buying a new diesel for the warranty piece of mind.

Show me a dual cab that do this................

I have no need for a useless show pony dual cab, I want a single cab low rider. If Ford don't offer one like they currently do, then I will be forced to look elsewhere. I also want an auto next time, so Ford if you are reading, people do want a low rider single cab AND automatic.

My point also is that the previous generation petrol motors used in Toyota ect were boat anchors.
A nice EB motor is a whole different story if they get it right.

That boat anchor 2.7L 4 cylinder (3RZFE) is an epic modification platform for those inclined, has forged rods from factory, its perfect for boost. MVP for someone inclined for a fast ****box that handles like a dog on lino to send themselves to an early grave

The later 2TRFE is yet to be proven, - 2005 to current.

My instinct tell me that the low rider 2WD single cab will continue, its still an important vehicle.
The good news is that the 2.2 Diesel is replaced by the 135 Kw 2.0 diesel with either 6MT or 6AT,
so hopefully this is the affordable auto option on the low rider Ute.

Sounds like you need a Falcon one tonner 👌

I took delivery of my current workhorse in 2016. I like my Ranger but in hindsight, I wish I had ordered a last of the line Falcon Ute instead.

In a nutshell me

I spent sometime making various wooden mockups of the whole setup after removing the tub so as to give the sides a different look but also provide storage boxes.

It also had to be a dual ram tipper as we live on a large tree covered block so I always needed to take branches etc to the recycle tip. The LH front box houses the tipper pump.

I worked out the dimensions of the tray but obviously had to get a local fabricating shop to build that. I had the boxes half bent to shape but I did the final completed bends to suit and finished them etc. I then fabricated a rear bumper to suit. and then built a tipper frame and made attaching points etc so it all matched up.

The cabin area has also been customised and fitted out using all the various FG model's bling plus a few extras. It was initially just going to be a replacement ute for my previous Hilux tipper for tip runs but as per this post it didn't take long to realise the FG was a completely different unit to the Hilux and it has now done 4 across Oz trips with another planned in June if Covid allows.

Thats next level man - you should do a project build thread for it here on AFF and make an account on https://postimages.org/ to post up the high res images for your thread.

Mate I did do a build thread back in August 2018 in the FG section but since then freaking iinet changed their picture hosting url so all the pics I posted disappeared. Without the pics the narration means squat.

But yep I've now leant about postimage but also the forum has pic hosting and I will try and repost all the pics and repost link but will need mods to give me edit access etc. DFB FGXR6 read it back then hence my subtle rub it in dig re his post

I take my hat off to you.
I looked at it and thought never seen a body like that.
And I guess the weight of that body empty makes the vehicle handle and brake better.

Sorry to bring this one up again but I finally found some supporting pictures for what I was going on about earlier.

Photos of what a lowered 2WD Ranger could look like with the wide body raptor panels.

If they aren't going to make the Maverick for our market then maybe Ford can give us this instead with the new Raptor motor.

Either way it will take sales off Toyota.
