I made a claim with Shannons late last year. It was for a ding from a carpark incident, other drivers details where collected. (so not at fault)
I've since found out that my no-claim bonus has been decreased - on both cars.

The question has been asked as to why I have lost part of my no claim bonus, given that, as required, the details of the other vehicle were provided.... and as they said to you, it was because the vehicle had only been insured with them for 12 months and that it is stated in the PDA.

So, I said that was fine, but then asked as to why they had changed the bonus for the GT. They told me, because they are listed on the same policy they are treated the same. They said that if the GT was on its own policy, it would not have been effected. (WTF!?)

Shannons where the ones that suggested putting all the cars on one policy, saying that it meant only one lot of paperwork and only one direct debit etc. - I know know why.

I have been happy with them up until this point - renewal is in Feb.... and for the first time in 5 years, I will be shopping again.

Yeah, falls under Australian Alliance Insurance (aka Suncorp). So does Just Cars, AAMI, APIA and a fair list of other brands.

Something I was told about recently is to beware of a "sum insured" policy which can sound like an Agreed Value policy but has very different implications, particularly the amount ($) of damage that will be repaired before the car is written off and lack of salvage of the written off vehicle.
