The RHD Taurus went on sale in UK and japan. In japan I also saw the older version but it may not have been RHD.

14 years ago I saw a number of Taurus wagon in use.

from what I read at the time ford advertised they spent a crazy amount to design the rear suspension and more per vehicle the build them--they should have waisted that cash on the EA-AU wagon fitting a japan/euro American friendly front end.

Excellent.

Pity they didn't do that in the design studio.

I remember toying with the idea of buying a low km one because of all the gear they had being a ghia. Funnily enough, I didn't mind the look. I mentioned it to the service manager when getting my falcon serviced and he firmly said stick with falcons. So I bought a new AU classic a year or two later.

Funny story, my dad did exactly that but paid around 55k for it new inc on roads

Styling for the 1996 Taurus (the 1997 was identical) was led by the same bloke who styled the AU Falcon.

Back in the mid 90's the Taurus looked like a futuristic space ship. Still fugly though.

I saw a Ghia version last weekend abandoned out the back of the motel we were staying at in Forster. I actually felt sorry for it. It would make a decent first car for my son.
