With all the ****y genre names of various styles around now you're bound to find someone which doesn't have the category they want....

i love rap MUSIC, not the pop rap you hear on the radio.

there is a Huge difference, listen to Someone like DJ Quik, to hear a real musician...

Rap aiight.
DJ Quik is not the only good one, you got to get into the original Rappers from the middle/late 90s if you want the real stuff, none of this nancy pancy hip hop from these days cuts it when compared to them.
Tupac, Notorious BIG, Mobb Deep, Chino XL, Necro, Jadakiss, Outlawz man the list is endless. And I will die, before I listen to Nelly, or any of that other BS.

I'm down with Necro, Ill Bill and the rest of the Goons. Their rhymes/beats are awesome.

I chose punk as my favourite bands fall into that category (Bad Religion, NOFX etc) but really I listen to most things.

The only things I avoid are what ever the hell it is "artists" like Nelly crap on about. I love a good rap album but the stuff that makes the top 40 drives me insane.

I hear you. I don't know what to tick.

There are too many genres to break them all down into 10 groups.

I'm going to pick one.... I guess it will have to be hard rock. But that is a lame answer..... :S

Very hard to pick just one....I was a child of the 70's/80's and my parents loved 50's/Country, so I grew up with everything from Hank Williams, Patsy Cline, Bill Haley, AC/DC, Exploited, The Pistols, DK's, Crass, Motley Crue, Black Sabbath and Motorhead just to name a few. Lately I've been gettin back into Rockabilly, gotta love a bass gettin slapped senseless.... :

I thought that this thread should belong in the past due to the crappy genre selection I added as options!!!

All good...... I might as well post in it again.

Well my selection is still Metal. Been listening to quite a bit of Dimmu Borgir, Old Sepultura, Old Fear Factory, Morbid Angel.

However, I did just get the new KoRn album, "See You On The Other Side". Not bad considering the quality (or lack there of) of their past few albums. A few good tracks on this CD. They have taken a step in another direction, which is good, especially now as a 4 piece. Slight Industrial slant, probabarly due to Producer Atticus Ross's infulence.

Stand out tracks are..... (with their track number and my star rating 1-5)

2) Politics XXXXX
7) Love Song XXXX
8) Open Up XXX
11) Liar XXX

Oh, and the star ratings are relative to the rest of the album, not to all other music!!!

Mike
