Why buy an EX taxi and have to spend money on it..

Id rather a lower km AU for a few dollars more, most taxi operators will swap all the good parts out of their cars into other cars before they sell them. e.g. if one has a new box and its about to be decommissioned they will swap that box with another one. same with diffs, motors, plastics... Why buy something for a lesser amount if you are going to have to keep spending money on it.

AU = more reliable.

eg.

Yes, I've been looking at the Carsales adverts for over 12 months now... generally these advertised cars are long gone by the time I've enquired about them... the advertiser just lets the ad run it's course to keep the phone calls coming in

a little deceptive... but I see why they do it

If anyone on here is still interested I have one for sale. Was bought brand new by my Dad who was the owner operator of a Taxi business in North East Vic. Looked after extremely well as he drove it 80% of the time. Still drives extremely well.

Is a AUII 2001 Falcon Forte with S Pack (has alloys and used to have spoiler but that was taken off).

There is rego until end of October but I plan to sell it unregistered as I don't have time to go out and get a RWC done.

More details and pics below:

saw that one thanks... it needs a VIV

and I've heard if you know someone that knows a Taxi Operator...
they can be had alot cheaper

One sold on Ebay last week in QLD for $2200... its been relisted due to a non paying bidder

I'm really hoping someone on the forum can help me out with a friendly point in the right direction to pick up a well maintained car at a reasonable price

As some would know .... Divorce can be hell... and my Ex has become satans spawn

I just want a safe car to pick my kids up in for visitation every 2nd weekend
(its a 460km round trip)

Well, I bit the bullet the other night and called the guy who owned the cab I mentioned in the post above...

I offered him a ludicrously low amount, we haggled a bit and I'm now the owner of another BA wagon....
Just drove it back from QLD 1950kms (stopping at Coffs Hbr to visit my parents) and she didn't miss a beat.
Body has a few small dents and blemishes plus the interior is pretty rough but mechanically its really good.

Will tidy her up over the next 6-8 weeks and register her early next year

Thanks everyone for the help

Good work mate

even if the whole driveline craps out you can get a 2nd hand one from the wreckers for under $1500

Google brought me here, please forgive the bump.

Considering grabbing an ex taxi. I live in the Scoresby / Knox areas. Anyone around here I can have a look at?

I found a few places , but none in scroesby/knox

Eventually bought myself a white one in QLD off an ebay listing

there is a yellow wagon for sale in the "cars for sale section" on the forum here i think... going very cheap from memory
