Old Pacific Hwy a few months back, a wheelie bin was on the side of the road looking rather suss (as no houses in sight). A couple of riders checked it out, had a camera inside it (small hole cut in bin). Anyway said wheelie bin was carried 100m down the road and thrown over the side of a steep enbankment never to be seen again

No more wheelie bins have been seen on the old road since...

What is going to happen when no one is speeding and the road toll is still the same ?
Stupid politicians have NFI about how to curb the road toll.
Driver Education is the ONLY thing that will reduce the road toll. Teach someone how to drive properly and there will be less crashes. Try to use the slap on the wrist method and people will just find ways around the stupid regulations.

Also with the "new" radars, they are Ka band and most detectors will pick them up. They are just smaller and harder to see on a police car. I would hate to be a copper sitting in their unmarked patrol car with a Radar on the dashboard, I am sure there would be some sort of radiation from them.

The new detectors will still be detectable by radar detectors as they just use the Ka band.
Speed caemras have assigned frequencies that they use to bounce at cars for speed checks, they cant just tune it to a random frequency and hope for the best. Will casue intereference with other equipment not to mention its highly illegal.

Australia is by no means the leader when it comes to revenue-raising equipment, if its seen here then it means that its been used somewhere else before and there is already a way to beat it.

That's an urban myth, and if you have seen the photo, its actually a nation which drives on the other side of the street anyway!

Come on guys, camera's are about MONEY. Simply good business, law of averages says you will make X dollars per day of operation. Better than a newsagent!! Unless someone puts up a warning....

As a kid my fun was posting signs down the road from the local speed trap places when Mr Plod was parked there. Used to work a treat, and real estate signs were limitless...now days my fun is ringing in to radio stations.....I've nothing against cops, bloody tough job actually, just against revenue raising.

But full marks to the guys who lop the favourite hiding place trees, love your work. Seems the old Ned Kelly spirit is alive and kicking...
