I congratulate you on the pictures. I also must say that the website that I 'borrowed' them off was not the old site, however was FordMods, which you will discover if you highlight my first thread. I posted it in white, however nobody has seen that yet.

Personally, I would have loved a T3 TL50, however my budget then could not stretch that far, however today it may be able to, but my Wife would not drive the car, and there is a V8 ban at work because of the price of Petrol.

As i said on fordmods, if they get enough people wanting one and signing up for one, then they may very well take it into consideration. Isnt that how they came to the idea to restart the HO, becuase of the demand for one, if everyone demands the galaxie then i am sure they will probably make a limited supply of them, if not then make it a full time car on the FPV/Ford list.

Everyone that demands one would have to come up with a large deposit even before Ford would consider it. Then Ford would have to see if it was financially worth it.
Which it wouldn't be. Even if they made the 500.

Holden tried this with the 427 Supercar, and lost alot of money.

Good photos mate. But, I thought it was called the Galaxie 540, with the 540 being because of the 5.4L V8. If you look at the number plates in the photos it says 540 as well, not 500

Saw that a while ago but what a great looking machine. I love the hood ornament. Someone also once Photoshopped XR headlights and maybe body kit onto a BA LWB parked in a street. Can anyone post that?

I would (money permitting) buy one in a heart beat.
However, due to $1.20 plus petrol prices, no-one would buy one.
Chances are, if you wanted a luxobarge you could throw around, you wouldn't worry about fuel prices. Either way it's going to be more efficient than a soccer-Mum Prado.

It looks very nice, the rear lights are very un-Falcon-esque, however I don't think it'd sell, at least locally. Someone who wants to spend a sack of money on a performance car wants something they can throw around- they expect a bumpy, louder, ride on Sparco-like seats instead of cushy velour loungechairs.
I guess it'd be like bringing out a Kenworth SportsTruck. Might go faster than other trucks, but it's still a truck, still can't outcorner a sportscar, still can't do the 1/4 in less, still feels like a truck.

Might be nice to export overseas to someone who wants a loungeroom with a big engine, ie Jaguar, Mercedes, etc.

Would order one instantly

Currently looking at taking a G220 and lowering it, tiniting it and basically creating that prototype. Would be happy for Ford to do it for me.

As far as I'm concerned its the biggest hole in the Fod line up. No competitor to the Grange at all.

I was seriously intending to build my own earlier this year. :

You can pick up a low Km 2004 G220 for low 30's (got to be glad you didn't buy one of them new eh) and a Boss 290 V8 with box PCM and harness from a wreckers for $10k.

Then I was going to spend another $5 and a bit on Zorst and suspension.

Rego would be ok because I was replacing a 5.4L V8 with a 5.4L V8. The insurance companies I called were not that overjoyed with my plan though.

Then go out and give everyone at the lights a huge case of ..... What the? :

But something almost as good and far easier came along at the right price...

I doubt Ford will venture into the Luxury performance market again, seeing from 1998 till 2002 they only just sold 150 in total FBT's and TL50's.
I bet that wouldnt even cover the development and advertising costs for these cars.

On that, I am glad they did, because IMO my FBT is the greatest car I have ever known....

Not to be a pessimist but most of the people interested in this car don't and would not have the money to purchase/finance such a car. If there is a reason why Ford doesn't manufacture this car, I would imagine it would be linked to the afforementioned statement. Look at the last performance Fairlane produced, the Series III TL50. Only three were made.. They must've given up on the idea and let GM waste their money on such a small target market.

That said, it would be a nice car to see on the road.

I see plenty of the General's Grange out on the roads. It can't be that small a market.

That has definately been the only thing to wet my appetite at the FPV family day.
I spent about half an hour starring at it.

The real main reason why Ford only made 3 TL50 or 58 TL50 is because T series were built to order not mass produce like everyone thinks and not many people knew about the TL50. There was only 1 dealership from each state that would have the right to sell TL50's. Unlike now people are starting to understand how rare these car are a what demand they are in.

If they were to produce these it would be a huge success for FPV. Cause ford will have better advertisment and more and more people are into luxo and sport cars now day and want a care with a package. People are becoming much more wealther and new car are in high demand in today society then ever before. If you look at fairlane sales now, i can tell people are gonna love these cars and people who buys V8 are not gonna care less about fuel prices cause they'll know it's a V8 if there gonna buy one. I'm a TL50 owner myself and i bought my TL just after my 21st birthday. Why could it easy to buy a new or second hand car. I own 2 V8 and couldn't give a rat *** about fuel price so stop your whinning and get over it.

Its actually the Galaxy 540, we origanly thought it might signafy 540Ci, but we where wrong, it is for 5.4ltr.

What about this? Found it on cardomain.com, belongs to FPV Galaxy.

It is a G220, it has 20'' Rims, twin 3'' exhuast system, GT-P interior, BF GT-P front bar and a bonnet buldge.
Closest I've seen to the 540.
