If I had ten millon dollars from drugs I would use that to restore rare cars for sure buy them spend 100k on them drive them for a while and sell it for 100k .Then I would do it again before you know it some of your money is becoming more ligit .

Plus I could think of nothing better to spend money on than cars

Bet you that the police really found 20 million and are saying that they only found 10 million so they can line their own pockets, in saying that I feel fairly certain that our honest and illustrious government (mafia) will do the right thing and donate all this money to Charities/hospitals/public schools...........(NOT)

I think that you might have mis-interpreted(SP?) that post. They probably had/did lots of things because they could. If 10mill is what was found, imagine what has already been spent.

You are an out right idiot, who said i idolise these pimps, thieves drugrunners and self styled idiots they get everything they deserve, I simply STATED they probably possesed these cars for the same reason they had that gold gun, why would any one want a gold gun? a status symbol maybe because they had the money to get and own something that no one else could own or posses........And instead of presuming that i would idolise these idiots wake up and smell the coffee PLEASE..

Funny if they were an old escort and capri...

I hope they turn out to be desirable and end up either back to their original owners (if they were nicked), however I tend to subscribe to the idea that they paid big dollars for them to turn cash into assets. Very desirable assets that maybe auctioned off...

Id seriously doubt they're stolen.... proceeds of crime maybe, but if you're involved in drugs at that level and you've got that much 'cash" you need to hide it in things like collectable vehicles, you don't waste your time doing petty vehicle thiefts.

Thats the funny part, they don't have to do petty **** but some do it for the thrill of it. Not saying in anyway these things are stolen or rebirthed car's at all either.

I would assume they woul dbe original XY's or something like that, whats one worth.

LOL, i guess the bottom line is what's the point of stealing an expensive collectable car? you cant drive it or use it, as it would draw attention, you can't sell it either, it serves no purpose other than for parts.

Not really, how many replica's are on the road. Even "if" it was a stolen car i'd say it's been renumbered so that at first check it looks legit.

95% of crim's are dumb and get caught, 5% don't. With the amount of people that are currently locked up there's still a large number of smart one's out there.

How can you say that, only 1 guy has been charged with possesion/supply of drug's. I bet he won't do more than 3-4 years for it either, the biggest wack will be for the fire arm's.

Look at the way the money was packed, the guy done for possesion had cocaine........Get my drift. If all the money was from this one drug it'd be about 5okg's worth. Which isn't an overly large amount in the grand sceme of thing's.

Stupid kids for taking drugs. I have come across drugs countless times but I'm smart enough to know that it is bad for you. There is so much awareness about drugs that it your own fault if you fall victim to them. People need back bone. If you want to risk your life with drugs then I have no sympathy no matter how bad you feel your life is heading. Drink for all I care but take drugs then it is your own fault.

hahaha lol, mate who do you think has owned 1 in every 20 of the GT's in Melbourne at some stage over the last 20 years, might not be "drug "in the word but "gang member" certainly is.

They wouldn't come take the car off you, it'd be a big task tracking the new owner down and honestly they wouldn't bother. If it worries you thats why you have insurance.

no they wouldn't bother, they used to just buy them and do them up and resell, and i doubt you could insure them for their replacement value though.

I think that if you look at the kind of person that gets involved in such serious and to a degree successfull crime, their ego would not let them own anything thing but the best they can get. If they are in fact falcons, I reckon they might be a prime example of a P3 and maybe an earlier marque??? Isn't there a NSW web site some place that lists these type of confiscations? Perhpaps the cars are owned legitimately? But either way I would say that at some stage in the future they will come onto the market. And as someone said earlier, they will sell for market price, no cheapies here.
Of course this is all speculation. They might be a couple of rusted out XP's for all I know. :

If the car's are owned legit they'll get them back if they can proove it, otherwise they'll be sold and the government will keep the cash.

Besides being all over the news these cars still wont go cheaply, people who really want one and are prepared to spend big $$$ to have one will have people lookign for them. It wouldn't take long for it to get around that these are up for auction, even the auctioneer would be telling all the right people as they get a cut of what they sell for.
