I used to get PRM only to read/look at the drag racing section at the rear. There were usally pics from either Calder or heathcote. So, there was a chance my car would be in it. (which it was several times)
Roy. Would be good if you guys took up where they have left off with respect to the above mentioned.

Actually naughts we have been looking at doing that anyway but with our lead times I thought the ETs would be a bit old by the time they hit print.

Your opinion?

I think that would be great. Better late than never.
Why the long lead time. With PFM you were all ways chance to be in the next mag.
Just leave the space for two or three pages and put them in at the latest possible time.
Also Nitro mag doed the nostelgia drags, They normally run 1 or 2 editions behind.

You would not even need photographers to go, just purchase them from Johnny nogas (racers edge) or Luke (full boost) or Luke (HP Heaven)
I'm sure for a small fee they would love to get their photo's published in your mag.
It would certainly give me another excuse to add to my mag collection

I too have noticed longer intervals between issues. And also the lack of a calender for this year too. I hope nothing bad has happened. I do enjoy their magazines and also have a subscription with them.

Agree here ...... that was a good part of FPM and was going seeing what cars did what times and with what ..... even if it is a good month or 2 behind. Doesn't matter. \Also the fact they just didn't stick to the heavily modified and did some good very short write ups on 12 plus brigade

The global financial crisis in late '08/early '09 hit the magazine industry hard and PFM was no exception to this. PFM owner/publisher restructured his business in response at the time, I left in May 2009 after my 12 month handshake deal with him was up, though a few things of mine still appeared after that as lead-times caught up with reality.

I hope all is well with them, but I've had no word or contact one way or the other since last Sep/Oct. Enuf said on all accounts really...

I checked the news agency that I last saw them at and there wasn't any mags there...

I love Street Machine Fords, I wish they were published more often...

I also love Street Fords, that issue with the Phase4 was one of the best magazines I have ever read, each page you would turn to there would be another interesting article...

I was after a copy of the Performance ford Mag with the write up of the Hardtop Anniversary in it.
It took me 2 months to find a copy.
Ill be surprised if this mag is around much longer.
Pity as I quite liked reading this magazine.

Typical, (having bought very issue until late 08 if I remember correctly, as it just disappeared) good magazines, like good tv shows are generally always not long for this world.

How about you guys covering the "Ford Forums Drag day" coming up soon.
The "other guys" used to to a 3 or 4 page spread on it. If they wont be there, then there is an opportunity for some people on this forum to get their cars in print.
What do you reakon

Wonder what this will do to the value of a full collection - make it worthless or increase the value?
I know the 1st issue has some collectability due to it having the Ford logo on the cover

Ok here is what I will do, I will have a shooter cover the event for Street Fords, only if PFM isn't involved.

Also I have tried to sponsor this forum but I never get a straight answer...now that PFM are not on here as such where do we stand on this?

Sounds good Roy.
Maybe put up some 12 month subscriptions as prizes. Just a thought

In spite of most people burying it, The Performance Ford magazine is not dead. The word from the editor is that Magazine No 71 will be out in about 2 weeks and will be a 2 monthly magazine.

I think what you mean to say is that it will be a bi monthly magazine, which means it will come out every second month ie 6 issues per year.

Be careful what you wish for... the net is taking over, but the reality of Internet based editorial teams is less staff and smaller budgets because the revenue models simply aren't as strong as magazines.

When it comes to car content the biggest hit from smaller budgets comes with unbiased tech articles. These are the articles that take time to prepare, research, write and shoot.

The net is great for immediacy, but the trade off is (more often than not) a reduction in photographic quality, grammar mistakes and poor writing (sub-editing is all but tossed out the window), and a reduction in research time per article and planning allocated to each issue.
