Just for the Holden faithful

"Some say he is Mark Skaife and if it wasn't for Jack Perkins he would have won Bathurst with a busted clutch."

All we know is he's the Stig

Its Camden Airport as there has been a few Ford GT's (the supercar) spotted in and around camden. These are the only two RHD in Australia. Also a Pagani Zonda. Ive seen a few Falcons like driving around with custom plates (to signify the models).

Studio audience applications I would say have closed. There was a form to fill out few weeks ago.

dont know if anyone has picked it yet, but there is a quick flash of an FG ute on a dirt road being flogged.....cannt pick the badging, but my guess would be an XR6T due to the type of badging on the tailgate....hard to tell if the turbo is there due to the red ute. it also seems to be a mining vehicle or something as it has the amber flashing light on the top. they also appear to blow a proton jumbock ute up.....theres a guy running from the ute in first clip, then explosion in the next..a beach challanege with 4wds looks like there is a nissan navara doing circle work...and unfortunately it is a camery wagon with the ea, but by the looks of the finish, the ea wins!! also at the start of the clip...after the drifting merc, theres a pic of a ford GT badge (tis the GT in an oval, no colouring, like its all one colour like a chrome badge or something) they also show the GT40 a fair bit through the clip.

Every year they seem to step up a model.
Last year it was E-Series wagons. I am now seeing more and more AU's getting about.
Next year it'll be the B Series.

If only they could drive.....

"If you thought the Brits had done it all with Top Gear - wait until you see Top Gear Australia, debuting on SBS Television on Monday 29 September at 7:30pm.

In the first episode of an eight-part series, hosts Charlie Cox, Warren Brown and Steve Pizzati play hard with all-wheel drives on sand and snow.

There is a glimpse of the new LP560 Lamborghini Gallardo super sportscar, Charlie test drives the latest Porsche 911 and Warren tests the appetite of Great White Sharks off the coast of Port Lincoln – using himself as the bait.

One of Australia’s hottest actors, Vince Colosimo (starring in SBS’s Carla Cametti, PD), is Top Gear Australia’s first studio guest.

“Surf, snow, sand, sharks and supercars - episode one of Top Gear Australia has got the lot!” said Top Gear Australia’s SBS Executive Producer, Denise Eriksen.

“Charlie, Warren and Steve - well, Charlie and Steve - have driven like stars and Warren has done his best with sharks and sausages.”

“SBS is incredibly proud of this first episode in an amazing new series which takes Australia's passion for cars in exciting new directions.”"

EDIT :- I dont know who wrote that, but whoever it is... I hope he/she will get the cars' nomenclature right as the show goes on. It's Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 (not LP560 Lamborghini Gallardo). The latest 911... which one? GT2?

Super sportscar? what?

I would have preferred to see the guys taking out some local content onto the track in the first episode. TG UK undoubtedly do it better so differentiate by taking out our local hero cars for a wrap around the track!

Australia's passion for cars is based largely around Australian cars!

You'd think the main point stressed to the whole staff working on TG Aus is it should be localized! We all know you can't beat Clarkson, Hammond and May at their own game so they need to use a lot more of the material they haven't and never will. Aussie cars, Aussie challenges and once again AUSSIE CARS.

Still looking forward to it greatly, they just need to give us a reason as to WHY it's called Top Gear Australia.

Last night I was lucky enough to be in the studio audience for the first ever episode of Top Gear Australia. Had a great time!!
They had a white Lambo LP560 in the studio. Warren started it up and gave it a boot on the limiter. Very nice car!! They also had a Porsche Carrera S and a story on the Maybach 57. The “Reasonably Priced Car” is a Proton (Satria Neo?) with the first guest to take the car for a spin being Vince Colosimo.
They have a segment called “What were they thinking?” where they talk about cars with strange name or strange styling etc… and im standing right behind the presenters next to the board for that bit.
They did a story on soft-roaders. It was quite funny.
So yeh, the show should be good. As long as they make it their own they should be ok. I think the presenters did a great job.

Oh, and what do sharks have to do with cars?? Well, they had a Mini Moke with a bolted in shark cage that was dunked into the ocean with one of the presenters in it. :

If anyone of u picked up a sydney morning herald today, on the Drive section there was an article about "the worst cars for sale in Australia"..... straight away I thought "the TG Aus should do something with those cars!"
