Well its just that all this effort and time and money goes into organising an event... $15 for grounds hire per person isn't too bad, in order to have the show you have to have Liability insurance which we aren't able to get as we aren't an "Incorporated Body" which means no one will insure us.
The local club has accepted the offer for us to use their Liability insurance and hence their banner and require a cut to cover liability insurance which is a minimum of $1000. They have asked for $350-450 as compensation in case something happens during our show, we have paid at least half 10 a third of their costs. they have their liability insurance just so that they can have their one show and we are using that liability insurance for our own purposes.

If we have people attend without helping to pay this cost, what message does it send for the possibility of future Meets?
if 50 cars turn up at $15 = that provides $750
now for those people who are coming that provides $100 for Grounds hire, and roughly $450-500 for liability and provides enough money to supply maybe the entry bag and a thankyou printed form on some nice cardboard.... that doesn't even cover the proposed $250 worth of trophies... (which at the moment the grounds and trophies are coming out of MY pocket)....

does anyone understand the frustration of the request to participate in a show and not pay entry?
its like turning up at a major music festival and asking if I can stand with everyone else to watch and listen but not pay an entry fee...
sorry... guys got a short fuse today... and this has hit hard considering I haven't organised the BBQ yet and there's just over 5 weeks left...

(edit: just to let everyone know... I have about 8-10 coming from Dubbo and although there are some 40 people on the list for Bseries I am expecting about a 1/4 of those to end up not coming...)

Anything that is in excess of the required funds will be put aside for a show next year... and I'll post up the takings here... I'm an honest and transparent person and I'll make every step of this open for all... should there be nothing eventuate... I'll pass on the profits to the local club as a thankyou...

You're a fuggen legend mate, i'm sure us b series folk will all pitch in more than enough to make the event worthwhile. I'll see if I can even organise a BBQ for the tailgate, every little helps ey? =)

Daniel, I just meant to say that you are running the show, you have done a really fantastic job of organising all this, not that its YOUR show, I apologise for my poor choice of words. I just meant that your thoughts were important, I didn't mean to upset you and I agree with all you said.

I hope all the B-series folk get behind this event and make it a success, so we can make it an annual event. :

no need for apologies... I wasn't in a good mood... and it pushed one of those buttons... I shouldn't have rambled on...
I'll be putting in the order for the Trophies this week and have radio adverts organised by the end of the week as well...

What do you mean not a member? You have a B Series don't you?
Memberships is easy as turning up! :
If you have a profile on www.bseries.com.au then that's about it.

a posting in the Pub section would probably bump up the numbers of entries quite nicely

Ok guys, Guardian has asked me to pass this information along.

It's getting to the stage where it's critical to send in your entry forms and remittance.
There is less than 3 weeks to go and so far out of 42 people who put there hand up only 6 people have paid plus 1 very appreciated donation.

There are outgoings (insurance) that need to be paid by the end of this week and to put it bluntly without the incoming funds of entry forms the show can't go ahead.

We shouldn't expect it to come out of one persons pocket while we turn up to enjoy the ride. It all began with the B-Series, so let's get behind it and show some support.

For the entry form and payment information go to www.bseries.com.au to download the form or the direct link is http://www.bseries.com.au/files/B-Se...Entry_Form.pdf

Thanks Ausbird...

This i the weekend, where we have to decide whether or not to pull the plug due to response...
If it comes to it and a couple of people still decide to turn up... we'll have to highjack a parking lot...
But at this stage if I can't pay the insurance to the local car club. the plug will be pulled and no car show...
thats just reality... and it'd be a terrible loss to the club and to the industry of car shows, as the Parkes Community and Council are very open and warm to the idea...

Here's calling out people... Entries are needed ASAP...I'm not going to Fork out insurance money for a show out of MY pocket... not only do i not want to, I can't afford it...
as it already is, if the Show goes ahead the trophies will have to be mailed out...

sigh....
