You don't have to show you car if you don't want to, not everyone going is entering the competitions, just being there is enough.

Its your show...
its not MY show... its the B-Series Show and I'm just trying to make it as successful as possible...

in response to earlier questions...
Well its just that all this effort and time and money goes into organising an event... $15 for grounds hire per person isn't too bad, in order to have the show you have to have Liability insurance which we aren't able to get as we aren't an "Incorporated Body" which means no one will insure us.
The local club has accepted the offer for us to use their Liability insurance and hence their banner and require a cut to cover liability insurance which is a minimum of $1000. They have asked for $350-450 as compensation in case something happens during our show, we have paid at least half 10 a third of their costs. they have their liability insurance just so that they can have their one show and we are using that liability insurance for our own purposes.

If we have people attend without helping to pay this cost, what message does it send for the possibility of future Meets?
if 50 cars turn up at $15 = that provides $750
now for those people who are coming that provides $100 for Grounds hire, and roughly $450-500 for liability and provides enough money to supply maybe the entry bag and a thankyou printed form on some nice cardboard.... that doesn't even cover the proposed $250 worth of trophies... (which at the moment the grounds and trophies are coming out of MY pocket)....

does anyone understand the frustration of the request to participate in a show and not pay entry?
its like turning up at a major music festival and asking if I can stand with everyone else to watch and listen but not pay an entry fee...
sorry... guys got a short fuse today... and this has hit hard considering I haven't organised the BBQ yet and there's just over 5 weeks left...

(edit: just to let everyone know... I have about 8-10 coming from Dubbo and although there are some 40 people on the list for Bseries I am expecting about a 1/4 of those to end up not coming...)

Anything that is in excess of the required funds will be put aside for a show next year... and I'll post up the takings here... I'm an honest and transparent person and I'll make every step of this open for all... should there be nothing eventuate... I'll pass on the profits to the local club as a thankyou...

the main focus of the show wasn't the show and shine...
its more of a social day, a gathering of all members and all like minded car enthusiasts...
in the future (and if it works out) everytone who pays and attends will get a free sausage sandwich and drink... but that depends on numbers of entrants and in turn the amount of money we get...

Sorry man that wasnt what i was saying as i am more that happy to even pay double the asking entry fee as i know how much of your time and effort has gone into this, and i really apreciate it, my intention was always to pay

The question was more a is there a section for the rest, that arnt fussed on being in a best category, or is it better to just go in the Catigory B Best Ford Falcon (non XR)

Sorry for any confusion

Ben

anyone who enters the show and shine doesn't necessarily have to enter the competition...
we are going to do a peer voting form...
we'll give every entrant a form and have a place where spectators can pick up the same form...
and next to each trophy category, you write down a numberplate...
we'll tally 'em up and hand out the trophy...

This is the answer I was looking for.

Money wasn't the issue, we all know how much work you've thrown into this.

Much Appreciated.

May as well just tick the applicable boxes anyway.

Can't hurt, and if you're not expecting to get any votes, you won't be disappointed if you don't win!
