need to know if theres any major problems with towing an Auto about 1km in distance?
anything in particular that needs to be done? can it be done or is it a no-no? the VT key fob went flat and now the car is stuck at Safeway and wont start because of the flat key fob. need help ASAP. saying how crap Holdens are isnt going to help either....it isnt my car. |

It dose not hurt to "Flat Tow" any car even if it is a auto for a few kms..
But if you was going to tow it 50km or so I would say remove the tailshaft .. |

i would think that short of a distance would be fine in neutral

Im no expert but maybe unbolt and remove the driveshaft or call a tow truck that can winch up on the flatbed. Good luck

Go slow, 1km isnt going to damage anything.
Ill assume its been done by now anyway. |

thanks guys. its down at the work shop as we speak.
NFI whats wrong with it at all. key fob doesnt work at all, car will start then stall straight away. all fuses seem fine so im guessing it has something to do with the immobiliser. went through commodorecentral website and none of the fixes helped. |

well it turned out it was a flat key.
thanks to Holdens forsight they soldered in the batteries and made the fob a sealed unit so we had to buy a new fob and get it reprogrammed. another great way to spend $100. |

While in the NT, this same thing happened to a person, while at Top Springs... About 300klm from Katherine.
Had to ge a Flat top back to the Holden Dealership. Expensive exercise just for a small battery. Is there any signs before the battery dies??
