The brake line's i had made year's ago were soft annealed steel bundy, silver coloured.
Bundy tubing i bought recently for a fuel return line was copper coated steel

Steel bundy tube is the standard for the industry, both factory & aftermarket. It's cheap, easy to work & easily available.
Copper tubing is totally banned Australia-wide for either brakes or fuel lines. It easily fatigues & cracks as it ages & vibrates. Trucks often use a copper-plated steel bundy for better corrosion resistance. In more recent times a copper/ nickel /steel (cunifer alloy) type tube has become available. It seems to tick all the boxes re: corrosion & safety etc. I've not used the copper/nickel type probably because it's over 3 times the price, but it sounds OK. Dr Terry |
