Remarkable, and my suspicions were wholly wrong. Good for the mother and stepfather, too.

For me, this is the best news I've heard of in the last week! I honestly thought that we were not going to see her alive again.
Congrats to everyone involved in the investigation that led to her being found alive. Her parents must be soooo relived. That is just the best news.

Well said by the DC. Applies to all facets of life these days, especially on forums and social media where people think they know what others are dealing with.
'Don't judge too quickly', Deputy Police Commissioner tells 'internet detectives' Also in his interview with Sunrise, Deputy Commissioner Col Blanch had a message for the "internet detectives" whose criticism and questioning on social media the parents had to deal with at the same time as the disappearance of their daughter. “We cautioned early on about internet detectives. Police were doing their work and sifting through it," Deputy Commissioner Blanch said. "I think what’s happened here today is a strong reminder, don’t judge too quickly.”

I am glad she was found but we don't need so far two days of non-stop same news different hour repeat news from Today and Sunrise etc asking the police the same questions in different manner and getting the same answer which they should know any way its an active investigation, with hear say from locals and people who know the couple or some of the history personally for example that the mother owed money or something along the lines to the kidnapper in relation to drugs etc (I am not saying this is accurate or true) but the police need to even if its hear say etc need to investigate and understand the reasoing etc
as from all reports cleo was feed, had nappy changed and wasn't touched (inapproaipatly like molested etc) I'd just wish the media would step back let the police do there job, let the family heal from such an ordeal... Also not one mention of the bio-father and how he's happy or feeling that his little girl is safe etc |

Some folk only watch Sunrise on ch 7, others ch 9, and me I'm an ABC and SBS guy, plus World BBC and Al Jeezeera news, not sure of spelling, but you can only watch one channel at a time, and finding Cleo Smith is big worldwide news, but bigger than that, all the millions of mothers and fathers all over the World, those whose kiddies have been taken, well this media storm on all channels now gives these poor folk one thing to cling to!

@FroudeyBrand, on the news this morning I saw a mention of the biological father.
He had written a post thanking police and was happy Cleo was back with her mum and dad. So bio-dad regards Cleo's mums partner as Cleo's dad. It can get frustrating to hear news over and over, but this is good news. Much better than hearing Covid-blah-Covid every hour of the day |

For me, I'm glad that the media is focusing on a good news story instead of the myriad of bad/sad news events that they seem to thrive on. My only concern, based on some of the rumours going around about the background to this event, is that the media will keep digging until such time as they can turn it into a bad/sad news event.

It's possibly worth mentioning that you do not have to listen to the news, you could just turn it off.
The media are running the story so often because they know people are watching. If we move on so will they. Posts complaining about the news you don't have to follow are almost as pointless as mine!

I read a copy of that Statement Last night. (But can't find it now) Given all the Click bait that has been written about this the last Couple of Weeks, I thought His Statement was Extremely mature & sensible. |

Hi Guy's
When i heard the Cleo Smith had been found alive and well after all that time I burst into tears. I didn't even cry at my father's funeral but cried when this sweet little girl was found. |
