Default Urgent warning for parents after car seat “catastrophically fails” safety test

The RACQ has issued an urgent warning to parents over the use of the Joie i-Travvel child restraint after it failed a safety test.

Put here in case there are any owners of this restraint on the forums.

Chairman's Award: Chairman's Award - Issue reason: Your outstanding contributions to this community have not gone unnoticed. IN my view you are a worthy recipient of the (rarely used) Chairman's Award.

Worth noting it failed in isofix mode; if alternatively restrained by the passenger belt as permitted for all approved child seats sold here, the “give” in the belt may have been enough to avoid this.
