I think your engine will still run at 90 with water wetter.

90C=195F=thermostat opening temp.

If anything, the temp would just be a little less likely to climb under hard use.

I noticed that the grade of motor oil I used had a greater influence on operating temp than water wetter. i.e. Engine ran noticeably cooler with 5w-30 as opposed to 10w-40.

For everyday use, I think water wetter's greatest benefit is that it allows you to run a coolant mix (giving corrosion and anti-freeze protection), while coming close to the cooling efficiency of 100% water.


Since it lowers surface tension, it will find leaks in a tired cooling system.

need more regular radiator flushes. I wouldnt use it in a street car.
