Gauging interest in a parts car

So my '01 XR8 just crapped itself, engine is buggered and the quote to fix it was too high. Just wondering if anyone would have any interest in it as a parts car or who have the time and knowhow to fix it or swap another engine in.

It's an '01 XR8 220, manual, silver, premium sound, leather interior, sunroof, tow pack.

Rego is due on 30/10 so I have a month to reregister before a RWC is needed.

Depends on the overall condition of the rest of the vehicle really.

If its in great condition and the motor is the only fault, then save it.
If it's done 1mill klm and the paint is peeling, then may not be worth it....

As far as I'm aware, the damaged parts are the radiator, water pump, two valves, I think one piston might've been too damaged. Mechanic thought the block should be useable, but said the cylinder heads were wrecked.

Car has...190,000kms, paint is in good condition. Small dent on front left fender, no cracking, and the little removable bits on the bottom of the front spoiler are pretty wrecked. Interior is in good condition, no tears or anything. Windows are a bit buggered but a friend reckons it's just the switches. Stock except for a straight exhaust.

It's my only car, and I don't have the time, knowhow, or money to fix it. I'd rather send it on down the line to someone who knows what they're doing and can fix it.
