Why is the media hell bent on wanting to have the Factory close early?
This comes up every month.

Yes, you would think these journo's would think of some new material................ Surely they are not going to print the same stupid question about whether the Falcon will finish early every God dammed month until October 2016 for Christ's sake !!!!!!

Well derr. They're selling everything they got...and with the old model more per month. Its only gonna go down for Falcon....unless they start cutting Terri production numbers in place....which at the end of the day should hold its numbers better Falcon will.

half of those numbers are cars registered for Ford Employees. The car is not the right send off for the oldest vehicle nameplate in the world. Should be ashamed.

Lol. Gadgetman is right. Go and have a look at how many cars Ford are registering for employees. Ecolpi XR6's in particular!

Dealers can't get what they want, G6ET and XR8.

Slight correction, it's the oldest nameplate in Australia, F series and Corvette immediately spring to mind as older worldwide nameplates.

Given the big $$'s involved in vehicle development, the changing face of Ford Au and the need to potentially make a profit, I would have thought the FG-X XR8 was a reasonable effort for a send off. Having said that, the history really doesn't mean much in this day and age unfortunately.

The two new cars I've bought were already sitting in the dealership yard, like F I'm waiting weeks for a new car let alone months, if I'm handing over the tens of thousands I want to drive out with it in the next few days.

If Ford could actually deliver in an adequate time, people might start buying them, for example the XR8 gets released but good luck getting one of those at a reasonable price, secondly the Mondeo which is meant to be released in March is only just getting here in limited numbers, yes I know this was a factory issue, Rangers .. apparently if you read everything on the internet as reliable as it is, you would believe you could buy a new one in July, but when trying to put a deposit on one, get told September more like it from the dealers. So I have been putting off my new car since November last year, waiting for all these new models coming out, then one of my work mates decided he wanted a new SSV redline, guess what, 2 weeks one is on its way to the dealer, yeas probably luckily, but when I ordered my SZ territory 4 years ago, it was like 6 weeks to get here. I cant see any new falcons getting around here in Gladstone, but I don't think the dealer pushes them either.

I've only seen three FG X' in my area and I know one Ford dealership that hasn't had any in stock since at least January.

I was at the local dealership today, and I don't think I saw one Falcon on the lot. If they're selling any at all, I can imagine it is better than expected.

The problem is that 15 years ago, the auto journalists had to publish articles once a week (in the cars guide), but now they're under pressure to publish something by 11am every weekday morning. Hence you get the same crap...

Some Ford employees may have salary sacrifice options which include leasing vehicles with pre tax dollars, makes sense!

Cheers

EcoLpi would have to be the most overpriced Falcon in the entire range.

Lol sold more than expected

Total sales for the month:

Less than 450

How many did they "expect" to sell, 1, 2, maybe 5?
