Default FG XR6T front brakes on AU XR8

Hi all, just wondering if they will fit straight on without too many issues?

Looked around in other threads but couldn't find any solid info.

I know the B series turbo/XR8 brakes fit on as long as you have minimum 17" rims which I have. Hoping the FG equivalent do the same?

Also, are they 322mm? Would like to hear from anyone who has done the upgrade..

ive got FG GS V8 front brakes on my AU V8 wagon which are 322mm just put the lh caliper on the right and rh on left and got some lines made up

Is the caliper swap necessary due to ease of fitment?

Got them on my au xr8 ute aswell. They are way better than the factory brakes.

B series Premo were Corvette C6 Calipers, which run a 325 x 32 mm disc. Twin 40.5mm pistons.

BF's are 322 x 28. Twin 42mm Pistons.

And yes the B series Premo's fit

Sorry to jump in guys,
When you say the braking is improved over stock, do you mean from gentle application (less pedal effort) or do you mean hard, repeated stopping (less fade)?
Or a bit of both?

I have converted from AU S1 front brakes to Au S2 front brakes with Braided front lines, Bendix GCT pads and PBR slotted rotors and only noticed a small improvement at slower, day to day driving (pedal effort was still annoyingly high).

I have not actually tried really hard braking to compare that.

It is with hard & repeated dropping that the upgrade begins to show improvements.

A S1 system with slotted discs, good pads and good fluid is more than enough system around town and for what most people will put their car through.

So far I have killed and overheated a series 1 and series 2 system pushing hard, which effectly lost me braking ability.
The B series Premo's so far have taken my abuse, even when I turned all 4 rotors blue and had the front pads smoking, I still had braking ability. But then said, I have a an extra mod for even more braking capacity over most.

I definitely notice a huge difference between the FG, and the AU when it comes to day to day pedal application effort.

Even just a different grade of pads can make an improvement, i gave street road and track pads a go a couple of years ago......... they where quite expensive, and fairly abrasive on the rotors, but you could feel them taking meters out of your normal stopping distance,
Regardless i would run them all the time if ì had the spondooly, some people might not like them,
i found the first brake application in the morning took a bit more pedal pressure, after that they where great.

I'm pretty sure the rear rotors on b series premo, where ventilated and 328mm , that's gotta be an improvement on the stockers you would think.

yep well I'm looking at a set of B series or FG premo brakes to upgrade my AU3 stockies.

What does a decent set of braided lines set you back?

I priced them a couple of years ago from a couple of places and they seemed to range from about 300 to 400 bucks for the set.......... I think they are still in the same price range.

I got the Goodridge braided lines from Matt at Race Brakes on my Territory ... and it was under $250 for a set back then.

One thing to keep in mind is ... from what I have seen and read ... there is no difference in caliper specs from the basic 298mm set and the 322mm set ... the difference is the caliper bracket for locating the caliper further out on the rotor.

At least you can swap the calipers around from FG/Territory ... to use on AU-B-series vehicles.

The main reason for the change in caliper orientation from Leading to Trailing was due to the steering rack/swaybar relocation on Territory and FG.

Hi Has any body done a upgrade on a AU11 Fairlane Rear Brakes ? As i have 322m BA Rotors on The Front with BF Callipers.
Looking at 328mm with Territory Callipers For Rears Any Info Would Be Great

Can anyone tell me if the FG Brembo 6 pot will bolt onto a AU11? do you have to swap the brackets from left to right? I think they are 355mm rotors.

Cheaper and easier to get Brembos to suit BA-BF as they bolt straight up without having to get pipes made up. You have to swap the calipers left to right and get the transfer pipe made up to suit.
