The old beater EB GLI I had for a few years cost the original owner in the high 20 thousand bracket as the papers of sale were in with the owners manual. Now you can buy a much a better car for a few thousand more.

Yes,

The price in the owners manual of my early 1997 EL monty is over $40k. A G6 costs less 17 years later.

Yep cars have never been cheaper. That's why they're closing down. Can't make a profit at current prices.
