They probably had to send out dozens of letter for that day and got some mixed up - they were probably rushing and stressing to fix the credit card mistakes.

and you call this a "momumental error" geesh.....

Yeah, i reckon you're probably taking it a bit hard. Take a chill pill and don't let stuff like this affect you - you'll live longer.

Copy of e.mail just received from the BP garage. I've done a little bit of research on the matter under the Consumer Guarantees Act and goods and service providers are required to use reasonable care and skill in the provision of goods and services and customers and entitled to reasonable compensation where there are clear breeches of the Consumer Guarantee's Act. Some people don't seem to realise that there were multiple errors on the service station's part that cost a significant amount of time and inconvienience and that's after they charge $2.209 per litre of fuel. I think there duty of care to supply service with reasonable care and skill was breeched and if they didn't think so they wouldn't be writing it off. I'm moving on. The bottom line and my final thought on the matter, as far as i'm concerned if they're going to charge premium prices then they should at least provide reasonable service.

Hi Roger,

Further to our phone conversation, I am writing to confirm that we have now closed the file and have written off the amount owed.

Personally, I would again want to apologise for the mistake and all the inconvenience this incident has caused you.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any other concerns.

Thanking You.

Regards,

Samir Jivani
