A very timely post and a rememberance to those who fought in all conflicts on behalf of this country.

Those who fought and returned as well as those who fought and did not.

We will remember them.

Peter.

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

(to those currently serving, stay safe)

While the basic Ford Six was code named Barra, the Turbo version clearly deserved its very own moniker – again enter Gordon Barfield.
We asked him if the engine had actually been called “Seagull” and how that came about.
“Actually it was just call “Gull”, because I named it that. Because we knew it was going to poo on everything”.

I have to say fell'as in July this year the wife and me where in France on holiday and we drove from Paris to Villers Bretonneux in the Somme , These people have not forgotten that Australians stood there ground against overwhelming odds to protect them and there village.Even renamed some of the streets drove down Rue Du Victoria Aussie flag flying in the school were there is a museum dedicated just to the Aussie diggers that fought bravely for them. And we will never forget the sobering sight of the Australian National Memorial cemetery with row after row of headstones someones Father, son , brother, uncle, RIP cobbers no one will forget you.
