Default Classic Car Inspectors

Wondering if anyone can recommend a company that could inspect a car for me.

Its a Fairlane and I want to make sure that its matching numbers and everything is where it should be and matches the description given by the seller.

Happy to pay a good price but I dont need a deluxe 20 page report, just the basics and what a visual on the paint and panel is like.

Id like to do this before traveling interstate to get it and putting a deposit down.

Many thanks.

A good bet would be to get in contact with the local GT Club. There will be similar things to look for on a Fairlane as there would be to a Falcon GT in regards to Numbers and components. Ask if one of their Club Members has a Workshop and does Car Inspections. Your chances would be pretty good. Don't forget to offer compensation for their time.

I had one of the Members of the Queensland GT Club inspect a BA GT for me and they were more than willing to help out. We spent nearly 2 hours going over the Car on a hoist and had a good chat. Helps that I also knew the guy too.

Just remember to come across as genuine and not a Time Waster.

Let us know how you go Allan.

I am not part of any car clubs (yet) other than the wonderful world of AFF, so unfortunately I dont have any contacts in NSW that know much about cars.

If anyone has any email addresses of people in that area that might be able to help a PM would be great, I will absolutely repay them for their time, money or liquid, whatever they choose. Id probably say hello to the person on picking up the car (unless I transport it back). Thanks for the tip.

Has anyone had any experience with either of these guys?

Last one I had inspected was done by the Racq in fnq , he knew his stuff and the report was cheap and accurate , perhaps the Royal Autoclub in NSW ?

Must have changed a LOT since I bought my Plymouth Fury from Qld many years ago .. they were basically just outsourcing the inspection to any local person who called themselves a mechanic.
