Default Exhaust Particulate Filters

Do the Fiesta diesels (Econetic or otherwise) have exhaust particulate filters?

If so, what is the service routine for them?

Thanks :-)

Yes they do have a DPF. There is no real service routine for the filters as the cars are designed to do their own cleaning (DPF regeneration). The normal service interval for oil, filters etc..... is 12 months / 15,000kms. I can tell you from experience with a DPF fitted vehicle that they are far from ideal if you do a lot of city driving so be sure you do your homework before making your choice.

DPF regeneration process explained below

I think we will then find that they do have a service routine because they use a very expensive liquid catalyst, the trade name being EOLYS fluid (but Ford might call it something else).

I will have to investigate via the service centre, then.

Thanks

Standard service but make sure you use the right engine Oil as the wrong oil will destroy them and are very expensive to replace

I have plenty of experience with them on Peugeot and Citroen.

What I want is more information regarding Ford's use of them, whether they use a liquid catalyst or a solid one retained in the DPF itself.

Surely someone can tell me authoritatively?

Any takers?
