Default Brembo running costs

A friend of my mind bought a HSV GTO coupe and it has brembo`s on it just interested to know how much difference in running cost for brakes will cost as opposed to standard brakes.

Do they wear out quicker? disc`s are obviously more expensive any thing to avoid as not to get ripped off when purchasing replacement pads, discs, etc.

Best advice is do not buy replacements through a dealer, and perhaps avoid the OEM rotors, go aftermarket. Buy the parts, have them fitted.
They do not wear quicker unless you start to get used to the stopping power and use it.(ie brake later).
I have them on 2 cars, and never have as much maintenance as the standard ,prone to warping, factory rotors on work hack BF GHIA. but see above for possible reason

Treat them with respect and they last well, I got nearly 70k out of a set of front pads. Treat it like a race car and you will have race car expenses. Front pads are about $500 a set for aftermarket, near on $800 for oem, rotors are about $700 a pair and well over $1500 for oem.

Most recommend going the DBA 5000's and going aftermarket pads.

The brembo pads + Rotors typically only last ~60k KM's...
