Dunno about Melbourne but a dyno run in Brissy with no tuning involved (just a power reading) costs me $60. I pay the guy cash.

aren't dyno's better used as a diagnostic tool rather than the obtaining of power figures that people trade like playing cards? No offence meant just curious why someone wouldn't use it for it's proper purpose.

it can show u if there are any problems in AFR and give u a 'general' idea of how the engine is travelling Nj.

I'd give bluepower a call. no idea wherebouts in melbourne they are, but they are a site sponsor and have a massive following thanks to their work.

That's what I mean sgtbourne. I'd never use one purely to get my power output, I'd use it to diagnose engine issues, tune for optimum performance and to get the most out of any modifications I had installed.

it can also be used as a before and after for any mods you may do...

thats the only reason i got power run done... so if i do a few mods.. i can go back.. and see what sorta increase (if any) there may have been....

but just to find out power.. it's a bit sketchy.. as one dyno will be different to the next

its nice to know regardless of getting a tune that in 3 years since you last went you only lost a few horses to wear and tear and the engines is still pulling a decent figure.

I'll mention Jim Mock Motorsport in Tottenham (near Footscray and Sunshine) in the north-west suburbs. They are a father and son team who specialise in the inline six and are well known to forum members.
