Those pixs are not the Verve but the last generation WQ Fiesta, though some have a different front bumper.

Interesting. If I had to guess I would say Ford is looking to make a cheaper model than the Fiesta for the India market, perhaps Brazil too. I know Indians are looking for cheap cars, look at the popularity of the Nano.

Ford's Ka is actually manufactured by Fiat in a joint venture type deal. The Fiat associated vehicle is the 500.

A car based on the Verve concept, which is the platform for the Fiesta, would have a more advanced design than the Ka, I would imagine, and therefore could be used as a base for a cheaper car by cutting some corners here and there where certain dynamics can be eliminated for the less discriminating driver. Its got to be easier to decrease the quality of a car than to increase it.

The car in the spy photos looks similar to the Fiesta but with a smaller engine compartment and front end.

Ford already produce a cheaper model for Indian/Brazilian markets: The old Fiesta. Ford Australia designed the inside of the WQ Fiesta, which was introduced on the Australian designed Fiesta sedan that's on sale in India. This is just bringing the hatch in-line with the sedan. Brazil have their own version of the Ford Ka, based on the Gen 1 Ka. They also have their own slightly tweeked Fiesta on sale, based on the WP/WQ series car.

Go Auto should stop smoking whatever they hell they are smoking, as the Ford Verve Concept is the Ford Fiesta. Idiots.

There's nothing like doing proper research before you make supposedly suprise headlines. Surely they can tell its an Indian Fiesta, which is pretty damn close to being the same in terms of looks with the old one.

Based on Verve concept, what were they thinking, its not within a million miles of looking anything like the Verve/production Fiesta.

I've seen numerous versions of these Indian Fiestas getting around lately, mostly all diesels.
