Default Thoughts on an 84 Daihatsu Rocky?

I'm in need of some sort of cheap (read: less than $2000) work hack.

I've just spotted an 84 Daihatsu Rocky within my budget but don't know a lot about them.

Anything of note?

PS: I did search google for some 4wd forums but there wasn't a whole lot of info.

Edit: 84 not 89

Slow as a wet week, but fairly indestructable. If its a diesel your looking at, they are rattly smoky things, but will keep ticking over as long as the diesel pump is is in good nick.

Yeah it's turbo diesel, speed is low on the preference list.

Reliability and a good heater is fairly high

Yeah, they have a good name in the 4wd community. Probably the best offering in the small 4wd market. Hard to get parts tho...
