Thumbs up

HI,

I'm the same height and drive a Mk2 4 door RS2000 tha a previous owner fitted a pop up sunroof to (loose about 40-50mm head room)

Head room is fine, only time I've hit my head in 19 years of driving her was hitting a 'dip' in the Cooktown road back in '94 - didn't appreciate how well Escorts flew until then.....

Seriously though - headroom is fine, but make sure the seat recline function works or you'll feel like you are driving a Dogem car, footwell and pedal spacing is big enough for my size 13 boots, gearshift is spot on - some of our 'vertically challenged' brethren complain that 1st & 3rd planes are too far forward.

Coupe will be easier to get in and out of - also with the longer doors you won't need to worry about the B pillar being in your line of sight

However, if it still has the factory steering wheel fitted (unless, of course, you are looking at a RS2000 or a Rally Pack that had smaller wheel from factory) you will probably need to look at fitting a smaller diameter steering wheel so you don't dislocate your left knee getting in and out of the car

Take one for a drive - you will be surprised how much room is in there - much more than the current crop of small to medium cars, even gives some of the so called large cars a run for their money.

Cheers and welcome to the fold

James
