I reckon they just trucked it up and didn't bother cleaning it for the show.
Good assumption

Me and my brother saw about 4 of the 40 years GTS on a truck this afternoon. I tried to take a picture of them but it was moving much to slow and we were in a hurry. They were just standard VE's with the tail lights still intact, but they had the side stripe, flag boot decal and the front and side grills were missing. They were on there way to HSV for the rest of the treatment. We weren't sure what they were but we knew it was something HSV were cooking up. Now we know

seems everyone is focused on the stripes even though it also gets optioned up with the premium brembo 6 pot brakes. thats a couple of grand right there. how much difference they actually make remains to be seen though.

hands up all those who are whinging who are actually in the market for one of these cars!!

or is it all about bragging rights in the pub or schoolyard (often i think it must be the latter) as to which brand has the best numbers. unfortunately for ford/fpv, these arguements do not sell cars.

if they sell, which they undoubtedly will, the exercise will be deemed a success and if you ask me its all a 5 year anniversary deserves.

Ladies ladies ladies....

There will be cars for the PURISTS, and cars for the Peasants....

Everyone on here knows that when we see a 5th anniversary 'special', that they are .... or are new to the game...

The PURISTS would have got the first order FG GT/GT-P because they would have wanted to get in on the deal ASAP....
The Tossers are the ones that buy the 'sticker specials' because they think it will be cool and stuff... like you know, whatever (in your best paris hilton voice)...

Anyone who thinks celebrating a 5th anniversary is REALLY worth making a big deal over is deluded anyways....
Christ, next thing you know, we'll be having annual anniversary specials, like the new Holden Colorado GTS Bathurst 1st anniversary special... with free fluffy dice....

I mean really...
The only saving grace for the car is the wheels, and its only because we haven't seen them before (unlike the painted 'BF Cobra wheels)...

It will sell, because tossers have fat wallets...
but you and I know that it ain't the real deal...

Nuff Said...

If having these extra's sell the cars that all that matter's.
Im just curious to see what the 6th anniversary special is going to be.
Well seriosly id like them to be little more adventuress maybe . But i dont know what kind of budget they had to play with maybe they did do magic with what they had to play with.
But maybe the should head down to blupower, yella terra or herrods any of these shops and see what can be achieved with 9 thousand dollars worth of extra's.

They will be out of business in another 5, so may as well celebrate with a super fantastic sticker pack whilst they can. :

I suspect FPV did a 5th Anniversary as they knew Holden was coming out with an anniversary special and FPV had nothing else to show off at the Motor Show.

Why can't they combine Tickford and FPV history. 5th anniversary sounds crap next to "40th anniversary".

How about it's been 40 years since the Falcon GT won the team prize in the London to Sydney. ie FPV GT "rallys tickers"

How about 25 years since the end of the Cleveland V8 ie "FPV ESP"

well, its just 5 years and its just a visual thing. it would only be a problem if it looked crap, which it certainly doesn't.

More variety on the streets the better I don't get why people complain so much at that prospect. Its only a problem when said SE gets hyped up too much, but I never even knew it was coming.

The wheels that are on these cars, are the wheels that Rod Barrett wanted on the release of the FG FPV series......
