I have stopped calling people because txt is cheaper, yet if you count the cost of how many replies you do a quick phone call would be cheaper. My cap gives me $120 of call/txt which goes on txt messages. I always go over by waayy too much, thats a hell of a lot of txt msgs!!

Bit hard when you work in the IT industry! I have to sit in front of a computer all day :
That's why I prefer to use e-mail. Work pays for it, so it's free and you can convey so much more than 160 characters per text message. U dnt hav 2 shrtn wrdz which other people struggle to read either...

I'd rather call but recharging or paying a monthly bill is too much for me. I used to get about 20 per day and that was irritating! I'd call after I receive the 3rd one!

If anyone texts a great deal it would make sense for you to go to a telstra shop and get a hiptop. The hiptops have a special unlimited hiptop plan, that includes ulimited email, sms, mms, internet browsing and msn messenger for $30. I'm getting one today, they are great little devices!

I dunno how many texts I send - I do know that my mobile bill runs to $600+ a month (for work), and I've spent just over 370 hours on the phone in the last 12 months (as at 12:18pm today, but I'm just about to call someone...)

Can anyone beat that? (I'm sure someone in the 13-16 age bracket can...)

What a waste of money.
If your boss gave you a pay rise of $200 you'd be rapt, but to blow it on texting is crazy.
If I was an employer and my staff were texting as many times a day as some of you people you'd be getting the sack I'm sorry to say.

One thing I've never understood? Someone who sends 10 or more texts to the one person. The reason? It'd be cheaper to ring and say what you had to in less than 1 or 2 mins.

I drive a truck for a living. The last thing I need is a textaholic annoying me while I'm in the bowl of a court trying to reverse, not hit cars etc etc. It's quicker and less annoying to just ring.

I have two phones one with a $500 cap (never broke beyond the cap) & a $250 cap which I've never gone beyond either.
