Default Updating front speakers in an EB Ghia

I'm looking to upgrade the front 'Premium Package' splits in my '92 Fairmont Ghia. However, the problem is finding a set that may fit (width/depth inside door), without spending $500.

Who here has upgraded these, and what did you use?

Quasi,

I fitted Alpine R type in mine, with thin spacers.

Don't forget for the best quality, run the splits off an amp.

Hey, I have Pioneer TSR-160 (I think that's the right model no.). They are the yellow series splits. They are runoff an amp so sound great and fit in the door real snug.

Great, gives me an idea what to look for....thanks.

I'm picking up an Alpine 3553 4 channel amp and will use either it, or the factory Alpine 3554 that currently runs the updated sub (10" Pioneer in a custom MDF/Fiberglass box made specifically for EA to ED by a mate).

I also have Alpine R Type components, mine are in custom door pods though
Sure, this is not the easiest or cheapest route but, it's what I got
