well my speedo is doing silly things. for a while now it didnt used to come up till 20kmh. like youd be trundling through traffic and it would sit on 0 till you hit 20 then it would jump up to the speed. now its starting to do it on and off to 60! it only seems to do it on slow takeoffs though. my normal takeoff will do the 20kmh thing but if i crawl from stop to 60 thanks to peak hour it will just be dead till i get to 60. this all sounds a bit confusing but im sure the general idea is here. basically how does the speedo get speed and where from. what needs replacing?

I think the reading comes from the gearbox. Most of the later models are like that i believe. The older ones came from the diff???
Not sure what the go is with yours as it is electronic. I would be looking to the cheapest thing for the problem first though.

All cars have the speed read from the transmission.
It could be worn speedo drive gear. Buy a new one, they are cheap.
