Thumbs down Talking on mobile phone, stop on side of road, still get ticket! VICTORIA.

My mum (65 years old) got a ticket for talking on her phone for a few seconds while driving. Bad luck for her. Anyway, she talked to the "ticket processing office", where she said its not fair, blah blah. They informed her that they are getting lots of people complaining, as you would expect. But! They are getting tickets where people HAVE pulled over on the side of the road to talk on their phone, only to be also given a ticket as their ENGINE IS RUNNING!! They explain that if the engine is running you do not have proper control of your car!

Thats the Vic govt for you!

Mum said, she was suprised when she rang that all they want is the money, and dont offer any advice on changing habits/training etc.

Anyway, so if you want to talk on your phone, you have to pull over and turn your car off! Even if its 40 degrees and you want to leave the air con on.
