Default Ford to unveil four new cars at 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show

I don't know if this has been posted yet, but anyway here it is.

Ford to unveil four new cars at 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show

Quote:
Ford will unveil four new cars at next month’s 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany. Ford hasn’t released many details of the cars but the company has provided a sneaky teaser shot within the invitation to build suspense.

The company is keeping tight wraps on info about what cars will be unveiled specifically. One of the cars, Ford says, will showcase “a major new design concept”. If the new design is in the teaser image above, we could expect to see a futuristic new front end incorporating those slimline front lights. Where it goes from there is anyone’s guess.

Another new car Ford is set to unveil is the new Ford Focus ST. The company has said it will unveil “details of the next Ford Focus performance car”. This doesn’t neccessarily mean the entire car will be on show but it’s a pretty good sign, especially as we’ve seen a large range of prototypes spied for a while now.

As far as we know, the 2012 Ford Focus ST is set to come with a 2.0-litre EcoBoost engine producing 184kW of power and 360Nm of torque to the front wheels. The new sports Focus could be rebadged as a Focus XR5 when it arrives in Australia, like the previous model.

Other features to be on show at the 3200-square-metre Ford stand at Frankfurt include a 2800-square-metre drive track. This will be an interactive setup to demonstrate Ford’s new ‘Active City Stop’ and ‘Active Park Assist’ safety systems.

As usual, it is promising to be an exciting event. Stephen Odell, chairman and CEO of Ford Europe, said in a recent statement,

“Ford plans to make a strong statement at the Frankfurt Motor Show, with several very exciting global product reveals and our significantly expanded show stand.

“We’re excited to be showing customers our best-ever vehicle line-up and a special glimpse of the future.”

We look forward to providing all the coverage of the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show, starting on September 12.

In the meantime, what do you think the mysterious car in the teaser shot could be? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
