Arrow Cheap (er) way from Uluru to Alice Springs?

I'm contemplating the idea of re-routing my return from Perth to Melbourne via the middle of the country.

I have enough points for a free flight from Perth to Uluru + $42 bux tax, pff! (but not enough to fly to Alice Springs directly) and can take an Alice Springs to Melbourne flight on Tiger for $50 bux.

Is there such a thing as a cheap (er) transfer between Ayers Rock and Alice Springs? Or is everything targeted at tourists and is super expensive?

thanks,
--Russ
