Default New PB

My day started out a bit frustrating trying to come to terms with the transbrake led to me giving it the flick and just footbraking the last qualifier. However, this gave me a new PB, 10.192 @ 134.12mph. The car hooked nicely off the line and felt good all track. Although there was about 10kts of tailwind, I managed to pick up 2.4mph over my previous PB, which equates to an increase of 35hp from a better tune.
Wasn't all good news, I got knocked out in the first round due to snoozing on the line (R/T of 0.162) and thinking I had the run I backed off to run a 10.22 on a 10.15 dial in, and the other guy snuck past me on the line. If I kept it floored all the way it probably would have been a new PB as all the incrementals were better. D'oh.

Awesome time, well done. If your worst RT is 0.162, what's your best? I am just starting out and my reaction time is about a 0.6xxx. Tell us about your car.

Good on you Todd!
It's nice to see a genuine street registered car doing the times you are doing.
Aiming for a nine no doubt?

Thanks guys. My previous PB was 10.28 @131.7mph. I had a 0.073 RT in qualifying yesterday, with a bit of practice I can usually get my RT down below 0.1. Still hard to compete with other cars in Super Sedan that are running delay boxes, etc. Though not many of those cars can be driven on the street.

Yep, a 9 would be nice, but a 10.1 in a full steel car with aircleaner and full exhaust is still pretty good, so I'm a happy camper.

I see you lowered you PB a little further to 10.135 now, although it was a little down on mph... Only one win, and you would have made the final...oh well.

Yeah thanks guys. The 10.135 on Sat nite was into a head wind, whereas the previous pb was with a 10kt tailwind, hence the higher mph. Well, that's my logic, anyway.

I was hoping my luck was would have held out for one more win, would have made it an all Ford final. Maybe next meet.

Yep, John Zappia is a bit of a legend, even if he drives for the opposition. There were a few new PB's run on Sat night, nice cool air and the DA was getting down low as the night went on.

I'm hoping to run the car again at the Goldenstate meet, but will only get home from work on the Sat morning, so it might be all a bit rushed. However, I'll be in town for the Ford v Holden meet, so look forward to kicking some GM butt then.

In the latest Perth Street Car magazine, Todd's fully engineered, inspected, and registered in Western Australia ZC, is listed in the "Ballistic Top 10" as in the Outlaw class. What a joke! Just because it has an RRS front end. It is fully street registered!!
It should be in either True Street or Mod Street Unblown.

Yet, a car like Simon Travaglini's XY, who has pushed the boundaries with the rule book, and has a car with number plates, but in many people's opinion would never pass for full street rego, gets listed in Mod Street! Full compliments to Simon though, but it is not a street regoed car!

Todd, you deserve to get your name onto the top of the list in the catogory it belongs, and that is S T R E E T !
:-)

Definitely not having a go at Simon, his car is built well within the rules of Mod Street for the APSA, and full credit to him to build a XY that can go 9.77/9.03 within those rules. I have spoken to Simon a few times about which class my car would fit in under the ASPA rules, and unfortunately because the RRS stuff is not recognised by the ASPA, it is an Outlaw. The rules of the ASPA are what we should be rallying against. In both Simon's and my opinion, they have been written by the the GM crowd, because you don't need to modify the front suspension of a Torana to get a big block with big pipes into the engine bay. You can run a 4 link rear suspension in Mod Street, as long as you have standard front suspension. It is truly a joke!

Also there is no requirement under the ASPA Mod Street rules to say the car has to pass a roadworthy inspection.

As far as the True Street class goes, the car has to have the original engine, although it can be bored and stroked. Again my car misses out in this respect.

Until some kind of "Real Street" class is introduced, as has been previously discussed, I don't really care what class my car gets listed in. I know it is fully roadworthy and driveable, and I know how fast it can go, and I have a sh1tload of fun driving it.

Its not the 1st time the GM crowd wrote some funny rules, have you ever heard of unopened engine class that allows valve spring changes...

Keep up the good work on the flying Fords guy's, if you have any pics post some up..

I've got maybe one more opportunity to run the car before the season finishes, hopefully mid April. Have got a few things to try to improve my ET, not sure if it will crack a 9, but a 10.0 would be a nice finish to the season. Also my slicks are just about dead, but I don't want to buy a new set at this part of the season. Will just see what happens. If I can win a few rounds and not break anything, it's a good meeting.
